Default What do you think...

I met a lady named Jonnie and I really liked it. I think it is neat when girls have a masculine name...ie Charlie. I have an Uncle Charlie, so that won't work. What do you girls think of Jahne instead of Jonnie?...same pronunciation. You can be honest...I won't mind. I want an honest opinion.

ndteacher - My dh and I already decided that if we have a girl, we will name her Johnna Anne - after dh's dad who passed away and Anne is my middle name.

I like that too Rac!

We have thought of Tricia Sue after both our sisters and now I have fallen in love with the name Kaylee.

Girls, Thanks for the input, I don't know if we will actually use the name. I just like it!

Rac, I like the name Johna Anne a lot, I know several Johna's, so I won't use it, but I think it is so pretty!

ndteacher - Also, there was a woman whose name was Joni Erikson(pronounced like John - ee). I remember reading a book about her when I was young. There was even a movie about her. She was in an accident swimming in a lake, hit her head, and was a quadrapalegic. It was an amazing story.

I know a lot of people think it is weird that I like boy names for girls. I guess that is the tomboy coming out in me. I always thought it would be neat to have identical triplet girls and name them Tommi, Jonni, and Charlie. People would be so surprised to see three girls when their names are read. I don't think I would actually do that, my daughters would probably hate me

I am actually thinking of naming a daughter a feminine name with a tomboyish nickname. I like the idea of Andrea and calling her Andi. Any other ideas like that? Then she could go by what she prefers.
