Default Someday this will have a purpose... (list of names)

Thought I'd document... so when it finally happens I remember what I like!
(Feel free to post your own thoughts and name ideas, too!)

GIRLS:
Ana Capri (named after beautiful island in Italy that we love!)

Margia Naomi (I just made up the first name this morning; apparently it really exists, though! My mom is Marjorie so I took it from her.)

Eva Fern (DH really wants this. It is a combo of both grandmothers.)

Madeline Grace (I have always loved this, but Madeline has become way too popular lately so I am shying away.)

Rachel ? (I've just gotten really into this name lately.)

BOYS:
The middle name will almost definitely be Matisse. So picture each name with that.
Logan Matisse (DH has wanted this forever. I am not a huge fan of Logan; it's okay, but not really my style. Matisse is after the artist b/c my DH is an artist/art teacher.)

Owen Matisse (The combo I like better; DH thinks it's "okay")

Samuel (I love the name Sam!)

Pace (pronounced "Pah-chay"; it is Italian for "peace". I figure it is different, but everyone will pronounce it like it looks so if the kid doesn't want to be different he still has a fairly normal name.)

Toras or Taurus (Okay, frankly, I just this this is cool. The first spelling is the first two letters of DH's name, and the ras is backwards from my first name: sarah)

None of my friends ever like my name choices, so don't worry about offending me if you want to give negative feedback! I realize a lot of people will probably agree more with my friends than me (DH thinks I am nuts for even suggesting Toras or Pace!)

Well, DH and mom both HATE Margia. I guess that one is out the door!

Adding to the list:

Lindsay
Lauren

Rania Ellen

Named for two very powerful women:
Queen Rania of Jordan (great activist who just happens to be queen)
President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia (first African female elected head of state)

Not that it is something I need to worry about anytime soon , but after reading other posts, this just came to me:

Aleena Paige
Alaina Paige

I took Leena from Luve (yes, I have to say I really like your name), and someone... I can't remember who, is using Paige, which I really like (who is having Marissa?)

I really like Elena, but am not keen on the spelling. So maybe the second way?

Sarah - Crystal (Stepmom) 's baby is Marissa and Regina has a DD named Marissa, too. I love that name. I think it's Mari's full name, too.

Girl (for now):

Elaina Capri
Clover ??? (Yeah, seriously, it's a name we both like)

Boy:
Creighton (I don't think we will actually use it but we both have liked it for years)
Pace Matisse (I think I listed this one before. Tonight DH admitted he is kind of "into" it.)

We are not able to agree on many names. He likes them really different, I like them kind of different. We know we definitely won't be pleasing anyone with our choices. Hopefully the kid can deal with it...

Cute names Sarah! The name thing will be a struggle in our house for several months to come but out of the blue DH came up with Danielle Christine, I have no idea where the 1st one came from but Christine is he sister's name and she passed away 5 years ago.

We haven't came up with one boy name at all. That is hard! I always think of someone that I'm not too fond of and then the name is out the window!

Yeah, the names thing is especially hard when you are a teacher. Names we would normally like instead are associated with specific students. Names that don't sound like they'd be very common suddenly appear in your classroom, so it makes you feel like you have to reach extra hard for those "right" names.
Luckily, we have plenty of time. I'm just excited to be able to plan this for real!

Genevieve Capri...

My mom and I agree on Genevieve, and DH and I agree on Genevieve, so I think if we have a girl, that is going to be her name!

Sarah- I agree about the whole teacher/name thing. I have a Charlie in my class this year and I was so nervous he would drive me crazy and make me hate my boy name. But, he's a love.. so if anything it helped! Good luck with your decision!

Sarah - I work in a school too (as an Occupational therapist) and you do find that names fly out the window b/c some kid is a brat!

I have a few girls names picked out - of course the whole wearing pink thing:

Madalene Rose (Madalene was my (italian) grandmother and Rose was Dh's grandmother) - this is a MUST for a girl! I told my grandmother the last time I ever saw her that Dh and I were ttc and if it was a girl we were going to name her Madalene - she said the name a few times and really liked it. She died 5 days later.

I also like MiKayla Margaret - Margaret after my other grandmother - however, MiKayla is done to death and with a last name of Quinn all I can think of is Dr. Quinn - medicine woman!! Not to mention someone in our church just named their baby MiKayla!! So maybe not.

I also like Isabella, Isador, Isadora, Rhymee(variant of Rebecca)...

Boy names are harder!
We like Keiran or Keiron. No middle name yet.

I am still waiting to find out what sex our baby is but we have a definite girl's name picked out and DH isn't sure about the boy's name I picked out.

Merika Noelle for our little girl

Connor Christian for a boy

My DH and I have loved the name Merika for years and it has never been a problem deciding the name for a little girl. A little boy would be different but DH does not like A SINGLE boy's name AT ALL. Oh well, I may just tell him to get used to Connor anyways LOL!
