Default Help!! I need a middle name!

I have had my daughters name chosen for years and years....

Giavonna. But! I need a middle name! I don't want Marie as it is mine and very common.... I would like something with a nice ring to it!

If I have a boy....the father has chosen his name.... It will be "Justin Tyler" or "Justin Taylor"

Hoping this cycle to get to use one of them! Any ideas ladies?

Angie - what about a family name... your mom, grandmothers.... someone else who is close to you?

I was thinking the same thing. It would be nice to use a family name or have you and DH look through the Bible, Torah, Koran whatever you may be into.

I used to look at maps of Africa, India, and Arab countries to find names.

Hmmm- I'll just shoot out some girl names I love:
Antonia
Paloma
Soleil (my daughter's name, pronounced "So-lay" )
Ciel
Kaya
Santa (okay - I know it sounds goofy in English 'cause we think ho ho ho, but it means "saint" pure and simple in Spanish and I like it)
Yesenia
Gisela (pronounced "Hee-sela")

Try doing a search online, you can find millions of names. Especially if you want it to mean something. Are you Catholic? You could name her after a saint? Look at Italian names, since the first name you picked is Italian, right? It means "gift from God", I think???

Meagan- My mother is Italian and her middle name is Santa the female version after her father Santo. It's not pronounced as "Christmas Santa" either. She hated that name so much she lied to us all our lives and told us her confirmation name was her middle name Marie. Then I took her to Europe for her 60th birthday and she had to get a passport and it said Santa on it and she HAD to tell me!! I think it's a neat name and so does my DH.

I like jade as a middle name. If i am lucky enough to get pg and have a girl i am going to name her Carli Jade. I don't have any boys names my son is Brandon Mathew but daddy picked that out.

I think:

Giovanna Sophie (so-FEE)
Giovanna Soleil (so-LAY)

both sound like really good names.

I think as long as you pick a middle name that accents the second syllable, it will go well with the first name. (That is why ma-RIE works so well with so many names.)

Oh, and probably stay away from a middle name that starts with the "j" sound and ends with the "a" sound, since those are already in the first name. Otherwise the name ends up sounding like a made-up news anchor!

(In case you can't tell, I'm kind of a linguistic nerd... I love analyzing language! Self-proclaimed dork. )

If you wanted to stick to the Italian-sounding names, Giavonna Lucia would be nice.
