My husband and I are just now discussing having a baby. We have only been married 2 yrs. (almost) I am ready, but he isn't sure. Anyway, we already have names chosen. For a girl we like Dixie Lane, and for a boy we are going name it after a close famliy friend that was like a grandfather to him; that passed away soon after we started dating. His name was James Samuel Moses. I don't really like the name James, so I wanted to call him Sam, but his niece is named Samantha. We call her Sam of course, so we decided to just call him Buddy. It was his nickname when he was little, and I think it is cute.

If we have a boy we will name him after my husband, Forrest Mason Mowbray, III, if we have two sons I would like to name one after my Father Jonas Heyward. Girl names have not been as easy, I like unusal or old names that are not as popular. Any suggestions? I do like Christie, Olivia, Maddie and Trish. My Mom's name is Gaynell and his Mom's name is Dorinda. Would love to come up with something to compliment both of them.

We are trying for our third baby and its so hard to think of names as we already have a girl and a boy which we have used our favourite names for (Harrison and Olivia).

It's nice to hear your suggestions, as most of you are from the states you have some lovely different names which you wouldn't hear very often over here.

I like my name, so if we have a baby girl, we would name her Alexis Marie. Marie because my hubby's gramma middle name was Marie, and he was very fond of her. Alexis, well, I've always been called Alexis by my dad and sister, so I've always liked it. A name for a boy, its so hard for me to think of any....I do like Jakob, Lucas, Rodrigo, maybe Mitchell...

I already have a daughter her name is Madison Lynn. When we have another I think a girl will be Lela Grace - Lela was my grandmother she is dearly missed and Grace is my DH's grandmother's name she is still with us. But the name Lela I like but I don't know what other people think. Please be honest and let me know. Boy we really don't agree on but we both like Wyatt don't know middle name yet.

I think lela is a neat name. It is short, and spelled exactly like it sounds. Probably get mixed up with layla, but other than that, should be a perfect name for you.

Lela is nice. I like that, too.

We chose Graden Joseph or Johnna Anne.

If we have a boy we are thinking about Santiago. We like Lluvia for a girl (pronounced You-Via). I really liked Paloma, but my husband hates it. I guess it is slang for "testicles" in his country (he is from Central America). Other names we like are Joaquin, Naya (like Maya), Kai, or Kaia. The only problem is my last name starts with a hard C - so the K names sound a little silly with the last name - sort of has a Casey Cason ring to it.

I now have a Molly and a Morgan. We did not set out to have 2 differant names that start with M but tword the end of my pregnancy with #2, who was supposed to be a Jordan (that was my maiden name ) I was on the Phone and I called her Morgan and it just fit her so well. Anyway with this one everyone keeps telling us it has to be another M name so I like Macy Jordan for a girl and Mason Andrew for a boy DH does not like either very much but he did say Macy might be alright. He likes Paige or Carson so we will see.

I think if we have a boy we may use Jacob. I like Jack too, but my husband doesn't care too much for it. We're going with a "J" name though, because his name is Jason, and we have Jason and Justin at home already

My DH and I have just started TTC and have already talked about names
For a Girl:
Natalie Nicole
Loralei Opal (Opal is Great-Grandma's name, Mom's middle name and DH's birth stone)
Hailey Nicole
Seraphina Dulce (I know I would be cursed with a child far from "sweet angel"!!!)

For a Boy:
Rylan Michael (Michael is DH's middle name)
Rylan Richard (Richard is my dad's name, he passed away 3 yrs ago)
Braden Christopher (Christopher is DH's first name)

I am African American and it is a big part of our culture to make up unique names for our children. My name is very rare. Alkia (AL-KEY-UH)
My father's name is Al and Kia was a very popular suffix in the 70's
I am going very non-traditional as far as my culture goes. The names I want sound very yuppy like... Kennedy & Camille for girls and my boys will be named after my DH (his request) and my Grandfather(I promised as a little girl).
