When I was in high school I was a secretary in the shipping department of a sewing room. We had two wonderful and sweet customers, one named John T. Ass and the Tyrone P. Pissant. Both were wonderful men that were always very good to me. But those names, I would have never married either one of them. I also worked with a lady name Fanny Butt, I would have had to think long and hard before I married someone with the last name Butt. Her maiden name was Spotts, so not too much better there either.

When I was in college in Boston, there was an election in New Hampshire and one of the candidates was named **** Swett. I'm pretty sure he was in the US Congress. It was just so crazy to see these commericals advertising "vote for **** swett" and signs saying "We love **** swett", "Dick Swett for Congress"

I guess if that's your name you have to embrace it, but still...go by richard at least!

My dad went to school with two sisters whose names were Sharon and Anita Peters. Bad enough, right? Apparently not, because Anita married someone with the last name of Trojan. She is now a secretary at the high school here, so the kids give her a really hard time.

And there is a lady at my church who got married and hyphenated her last name. It is now Sally Seymore-Beaver. Why?!?! lol

I think Colton is a precious name. A close friend named her son that and he is just adoreable.

DH totally threw me for a loop this weekend. We were driving to a family dinner when he tells me that he doesn't like the name (Katelynn) that I had picked out as the Girl Name.

He picked the boy name (Cotton Thornton) and I picked the girl name (Katelynn Louise).

At first it totally hurt my feelings because Mine and my mother's middle name is Lynn. I was trying to include my middle name because DH has planned on using his middle name (Thornton) as the middle name for the boy name. But he explained that he thought that Katelynn was being used alot in the area that we live in and he and I have always said that we didn't want common names. It didn't help that i had just received two different baby shower invitations last week with the baby being named Katelynn. So after dinner we stopped and picked up one of those name books and He just fell in love with the name Octavia.

I just want outside opinions.... It would be Octavia Louise Clark.
What do ya'll think?

Octavia... sounds cool but at the same time it sounds like a boy's name to me. Just to give you some feedback.

For another "Lynn" name... how about Tevelynn? I love this name (I don't know if it is a real name... I made it up one day because I like Evelyn but wanted something a little funky too.) Anyway, I love the name but my DH hates it, so I know we won't end up using it! When I saw your predicament I first thought Octavelynn, but I think that looks a bit weird! However, Tevelynn... she could go by Teva (Tay-va) for short...

Okay, I'll stop trying to push you to steal my name choice...

I always like names that no one else likes. Watch me end up with a Jane or Jill or something like that though!

I guess I had not thought of that one. Let me tell you .... I have been through the baby name book over and over and over again.

So give me your honest opinion.....Do you like the name Andie?
