That is crazy Cassie! I have been suggesting some names to DH and he doesn't like any of them. He has decided since I GET to be pg and deliver the baby, he should GET to name the baby. What a nerd (He is always joking around) So he has been thinking of dorky names. Yesterday he called the baby Roger all day long. I asked what if it is a girl? He said it would be Rogerette! Today, the baby is Oscar! OH BOY......it will be a long 9 months!

Lynn - Yeah your baby might get picked on with a name like that. Dh even told me how to spell it. I'd be afraid everyone would try to pronouce it like Jacee if it were spelled Jace, so I think I'll stick with Jase.

Lynn - That's Funny! You have to think about the last name that's for sure!

My last name is Getteau. (pronounced get-toe) And before I knew DH I wanted to use the French spelling of Matthew, Mattieu.

But once I got married I thought Mattieu Getteau might be a bit much and went back to the English spelling.

My co-worker was coming up with funny stuff for my last name Walker: JJ Walker, Jay Walker, Street Walker.

It all started because we have a guy here who's last name is Pena and his wife is pregnant with their 4th child. We said he should name it Halo Pena.

our last name is Bird, so we could have Jay Bird, Robin Bird, A. Bird, and so on! DH is already T. Bird.

I love the play on names! My mom's maiden name is White, and my grandpaw insisted on naming her Snow... LOL... which makes it even more funny that she dated a guy named Tom Sawyer.... LOL

I married into the Blue family.... and I know if we have a girl her name will be Sky... well at least her middle name!

I also have a cousin named Road Block! He is HUGE too!

I keep kidding DH that if we have a girl I want to name her Desiree.

Since our last name is Getteau, that's the French word for "cake" so if our girl's named Desriee Getteau, that roughly translates to "I want cake."

He gives me the worst look everytime I say it!

when you start looking up the meanings of names, there are some bad meanings for common names. For example the name Cameran means "crooked nose" and Barbara means "stranger" You would think people would care about what the name meant, but obviously not!

Mere-that is too funny!

We didnt really look at name meanings when we made our decisions because some of the meanings date really far back so they dont really pertain to us but I did look them up not to long ago and had to laugh

Molly, comes from Mary (which is MILs name) means bitter (so not our girl, but dh said it could be when she finds out it comes from Mary)

Morgan, means house by the sea. Didnt really know this was unisex or I wouldnt have named her that, oh well it suits her.

The HR guy where I worked was named Anthony Anthony so people called him Tony Tony or T2 (t-squared). That's crazy too! Names can be so funny!

Ryan means little king, I'll have to look up Jase since that's what we are going with now.

One of DH's college friends changed his name to "The Mad Hatter" He was a nice guy, but he was a little odd at the same time.

A friend of mine work at a health insurance company that he had his insurance with and she said it was a pain trying to prove that was his real name.

I had a friend in college who's name was Dusty Boots, and his brother's name is Justin. I also have a friend who is a teacher and she had a girl in her class named Tnedicca, which is accident spelled backwards. She said she almost cried when she asked her mom about it during a parent teacher conference and the mom said, Well, that's what she was! Can you believe that?

Our last name is Dye, so dh jokes about naming our kids all sorts of names...
Rit Dye
Liver Dye
Jed Dye
Red Dye

His neice's name is Heaven, same last name mind you...

Don't forget to think about initials. I had a friend in high school who's initials were SAD.

It is interesting to live next to a reservation since so many names are Native American. We had a girl on our basketball team with the last name Bad Hand. That isn't good for a basketball player!
