Default getting scared

Hi guys!
I'm just now realizing I only have about 11 weeks to go and I'm getting really nervous! I don't have a high tolerance for pain and I'm so scared I can't do this. I'm going to have an epidural but I'm still fearful of how bad the pain will be before they will give it to me, and still afraid that I can't get her pushed out. Am I being paranoid or is this normal for a first time mom?

Kelli, sorry I missed ur post til now. It's totally normal to be scared. But u will be just fine! I have very low pain tolerance & I made it thru once. Go in w/ a birth plan--it always helps to be as prepared as possible. Make sure ur nurses know u want an epidural as soon as possible (I'd prob tell them as I'm wheeled to maternity and keep tellin them til I got it ). It depends on the doc what their policies are about epidurals. Ur best bet is to ask ur doc b4 u go into labor how soon u can have it. Just know that u will have the strenth and the endurance u need to make it thru. & it will be so worth it.

Kelli - The way I look at it is that women have been doing this from the year dot. I've heard of women working in fields, giving birth and then going straight back to work. Im not expecting for it not to hurt, but Im guessing mother nature gives us all a helping hand by giving us the strength and will to get the job done. Lease am hoping so!

Good luck, I know you'll do fabulously!
