Default Wish us luck!!!

DH goes for his SA tomorrow. This time he is really going to go (he has cancelled the last three times due to schedule conflicts.)
Funny thing is, 16 year old niece is staying with us this week. He has to... um... donate at home and then drop it off. I was going to take her out shopping or to get haircuts, but the appt. is at 10am!
She tends to sleep in till at least 10:30, so we'll just have to keep her up late and hope for the best. Maybe I'll play "guard" in the morning... jeez, I hope he can perform under such pressure!

Wish us luck.. I'll post the results as soon as I know them!

Thanks for the support. It didn't go well. DH felt too much pressure and was not able to produce.
Scheduled for another appointment on Monday.

It was truly awful. Like something out of Curb Your Enthusiam. We walked into the clinic with the non-sample in my pocket. Tried to quietly tell the receptionist that there was a problem with the SA. There were probably five other people in there and they could here every word we were saying b/c it was dead silent in the office.

We went back to hand the non-sample to the Dr. He saw it and started laughing (so was I, I couldn't help it, it was just such a disaster). Then he brought us out to schedule a new appointment. He tried to keep his voice down but was still loud enough for everyone to hear.

Poor DH was miserable. So was I, but it's got to be ten times worse for him.

Ugghh... well, we'll see what happens Monday.

Sarah - Your poor DH!!!

I think if mine ever has to do that he'll probably die of embarrassment too.

My Forrest can relate, he says on demand puts ways to much pressure on them. He wouldn't even let me stay in the room, I told him I thought maybe I could help, but he ran me out of the room. Best of luck on Monday!

DH and I just BD and used the "withdrawl method" right into the little cup at home and then he drove his "sample" right over to the lab and dropped it off. He was so funny. He pulled the "sample" out of his pocket and tried to hand it to the receptionist. She was like this: and told him, No, you have to put your name on it and so he was standing there trying to write on the side of the cup with a ballpoint pen that wouldn't write. It was so funny when he told me about it.

Wendy~ When I worked at the hospital (Admission Dept), I would have guys try to hand the speciman to me too. I would be all like, "Oh, that doesn't go to me Just hold on to it until you get to the lab"

There would be times when guys would just leave it on the counter b/c they would be so emberrassed. Only they would forget to leave their name or medical record number with it, so they would have to do it again

Sorry it didn't work out! DH went through 2 SA's. He was so embarrassed both times. He thought he was being heard while he was at it. Poor guys! LOL

Hope it works out the next time..

Alex

LOL Regina, that's so funny! It sounds like you handled the situation well. I don't blame the receptionists for looking shocked, though. That's pretty yucky to be handed that kind of stuff. Eww! Well, it's not so yucky when its your own stuff, but to be handed someone else's stuff? Yuck!

Alex

I guess that was part of DH's problem. He thought for sure that he could be well heard b/c I had turned off the music. He didn't know that the reason I turned it off was b/c I was busy making important calls and I needed to hear!
Even though neice was dead asleep, I am sure that provided some extra pressure and worry about us hearing him.
He told me next week I HAVE to leave the house, no matter what. He said he will go drop it off himself, as long as he is sure that there is no one listening to him! Poor guy...
When he was throwing a hissy fit earlier (leaving the clinic), he said, "I don't like this at all (in a pouty voice)." I asked him if he thinks the stuff I get to do sounds like such a joyride. He was quiet after that.

Wheresmybaby- we were told it can ONLY be done this way... no b/d allowed. I think it would be so much easier if we could b/d and withdraw. I know from experience he is quite skilled at that practice!

Okay... wish us luck again....

Today is DH's new SA day! His appointment is at 11a.m. Works out well b/c I have to bring the dog to the vet for vaccinations at 10a.m., which means I will not be home (that made him paranoid last time!)

Hopefullly all will go beautifully!
