Positive Intention Conception
How to use the power of Positive Intention Conception.
As many of you know one of my biggest challenges is remaining in a positive state of mind...all the time. So I plan on making a HUGE effort to do that this year during every single solitary cycle. So I took quite a few classes at Resolve on mental health type topics. In order to do this, I may have to do some pretty hokey things. The last class I took was called "How to use the Power of Positive Intention Conception" and amazingly not once did the thought go through my head of "are you nuts lady?" I embraced every single drop of it. The basis of the program is to create a Fertility Alter, an area in your home where you put all your positive "items". Then you medidate in front of it, for as long as you are comfortable. This is also the space where you would do your injections, or take your clomid. Here is what the program suggests, to awaken the 5 scenses to create life. 1- create a fertility alter - that represents the creation of life. And you place items that represent things fertility or pregnancy or a baby, or things that calm you, good luck charms. 2- choose a color-- That means fertility for you. So that each time you see the color you know that the universe is supporting you in the process. 3- scents or fragances - again could be anything that represents fertility or is relaxing to you. 4- candles - light them to create a relaxing atmosphere - again could be a color or a fragrance. 5- music that is comforting to you. Could be classical, jazz...ideally something that you might use during the labor. 5- Guided imagery - Any images that help you think of positive things. Whether it's a picture of your furbabies, or a picture of you and your husband in a vacation location To start the ceremony, turn on music, light the candles, apply the fragrance on your skin., thinking about what you are going to create, positive energy. Look at all the items that you gathered. The ceremony is to empower you. It is to counterbalance the medical sterile stuff that we've been going through. And it's the opportunity to thank your body for working so hard. So that's what I learned. I have the CD that goes into more detail - if you want a copy, I am MORE than happy to burn one and send it to you. Just PM me your address. This is how I altered it to meet our needs. And SHOCKINGLY Carlos has been a really good sport and not once has it said...uh coocoo!!!! I am not going to force him to do the ceremony with him, but boy am I hoping he does join me. Our fertility alter is in our bedroom, it's on the side of the bedroom where the crib will be going. We haven't picked a color. We used the frangrance of a candle with vanilla since I've heard that is a fertile scent, plus it's in remembrance of our kitty Vanilla. who left us way too soon. The music we have is from 2 movies. One is At First Sight and the other is City of Angeles. The only imagery I have is a picture of the two of us. I've played around with the thought of putting a pic of me when I was pregnant with Jonathan but because it's my ex's "seed" I thought maybe not. So in my alter I have the following - 1--a frog that the boys put on my bed the day I got home from the Resolve meeting, 2-My rose quartz necklace (the CD says that is a fertile stone), 3- I bought a baby set that came with baby lotion, powder, shampoo, destinin and some vapor thing. 4- A religious candle focused on miracles 5- a vanilla tealight 6- 3 teeny rosaries. One from my nephew's baptism, one from my other nephew's communion and one from my son's communion 7- a little statue of a baby - also from my nephews' baptism 8- a charm of a mother & a child that Jonathan gave me ages ago. 9- the box of HPT's that I got from my goodie bag from Resolve 10 - Lastly every night when we take off our wedding rings they will go there. The only things I'm missing is I saw a Kokopelli tea light holder that I saw in a store, I want to get that. A pair of baby soccer shoes that Carlos wants me to get and I need a textile...so I'll probably get a pair of mittens or baby socks. Once I put that stuff up, I will take a picture of it and share it with you guys. At the beginning of each cycle I will put the OPK's, instead cups & preseed I will use that month. I will also put any vitamins planned for the month. That way everything receives my positive energy. The other thing I'd like to do is add something promegranate - haven't found what yet , but I will, maybe we'll eat one together and then keep the seeds?? I don't know I'll figure it out. We will just sit in front of the sactuary for 15 minutes each night. So that's my plan....we'll see how it goes. =) Let me know if you have any questions. Betsy~ I think this is a great idea. I'm a firm believer in the power of the mind...positive thoughts can really get you somewhere! I'm so excited for you! Can't wait to see pics.

Pretty cool Betsy. I added a wooden sign in our living room the other week that says BELIEVE. DH knew right away why it was there. I'm trying to be more positive too with 2008. Hopefully you'll help inspire me!

Em - I totally thought Carlos would start making fun of me. But as the day progressed and I kept putting things on this glass shelf...he wouldn't say much. When we went to Michaels Craft store for a project he's working on. I grabbed a pair of doll soccer shoes, he asked me what it was for, I told him it was for a fertility alter I was building. His response....."For $7?? You can get real ones for $14 at the swapmeet" So I put them back. I thought maybe he didn't hear what I said. I let it go. We went to Target when I bought the baby lotion package, again he asked me what that was for and I said the fertility alter....no response.
When we went super market shopping that was when I grabbed the religious candle and he asked which one did you get - this time there is a smirk on his face. And I said Maria Milagrosa...since apparently we need a miracle at this point. His response "orale". I kept waiting for the joke, or the no you are not putting this in our bedroom, I got nothing of that. When he sat with me in front of it. He asked me if one of the girls here had done this, I told him no that it was one of my classes, he said oh wow I thought it was all medical stuff. And i said no there was all this goobely glob stuff too. And he said that's cool, the mind is a powerful thing. And then we sat, watched the flames and put baby lotion on my hands and feet. When 15 min went by, I said wanna go to bed and he said yup. It was that easy. Heidi - You should rub it every day in the morning and at night. Let me know if anyone wants the CD, I'm burning copies at work today.

Betsy - Carlos has been way more open to things that Juan though. Juan thinks temping is psychotic and that stressing about it means it will never happen. Well, I'm sure since he managed to get his ex pregnant so easily, he thinks it should always be that easy! Sometimes I wish the problem was him, just so I didn't feel so guilty...

Kelly - That's exactly right!!! I sit there and just visualize. Last night I made it all the way to the moment of labor and having my cousin in law Rosie with me and Carlos. Carlos did it with me again last night. We played with the powder last night too.
Em - That's true. I also think Carlos has an easier time accepting this than anything medical...or rather anything with needles. Jen - Got it!

Betsy, you know what the truly amazing thing is here? You're changing everyones negative energy into optimistic positive energy with just being positive with yourself.
Pretty cool what 1 person in a group can do and inspire for everyone else. We seriously need more people like you.

Betsy - That is really cool. Good for you! I totally believe in positive energy. Have you ever watched the movie "The Secret"?? It is all about thinking positive and positive things will happen to you. I'm so happy for you that Carlos is so supportive. Positive thinking is needed in all aspects of life it is very healthy! Best of luck!! I hope this brings you your 2008 baby!!

We have been meditating regularly. Sometimes me alone. Twice with Jonathan he fell asleep both times but that's okay - I was at peace and that's ultmately what's important. Carlos has done it a few times alone too. Like today. There are moments in the day when I'm close to tears or really pissed, or angry or something and I think "i cant wait to go home to my happy place". It is such an amazing feeling. I'm so glad I did this. So I still have negative thoughts I just now feel I have a place to physically discharge of them.
My alter is even the screen saver on my phone, I smile each time I see it. Another quirky thing I did, is I made an excel spreadhsheet of positive sayings. They are now EVERYWHERE. In every slot in my wallet and purse. In my jacket pockets, in kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, drawers, the light switch. EVERYWHERE. So where ever I am, whatever I do, whether I read it or not I'm getting subliminal positive readjustments....Tonight I'm going to focus on...if one day this all goes to shit at least I'll be busy for a day and half trying to find where I hid all of these.  Okay here are pics of my alter.It's in two halves cause it's long. Some things I've added, I have the blouse I wore the day we got married on the left hand side, and the OPK's and the clomid I'm using this month are on there now too.
