Mel - that sounds like fun! I wish there was a symphony around here.
Okay... I'm probably cruisin' for a bruisin', but what does it mean when you have a positive opk after ovulation? I had to satisfy my poas urge, so I used one of the old answer strips yesterday. It was a very quick positive, and it has never been as dark as that before. So, I used one of my better quality opks, and it, too, was positive. This morning, another positive (really dark). Why would the LH be so high after ovuation? Do you think that could be causing me problems ttc? I've read that pcos can cause this, but I've been told that is because the body builds up LH, then doesn't ovulate. But... I've ovulated already. Any ideas? Do you think a high level of LH would impede implantation? Next cycle I'm thinking of trying an opk the day after O to see if it is positive. I know, I shouldn't waste an opk. I'm fighting with my addiction... taking one step at a time. ![]() |

Hi girls...haven't posted much lately cause I've just been in a funk. But I've been lurking....hope you all are doing well!
Mel- the symphony sounds fun! Yea for IUI this cycle!! I hope one is all it takes!! Mare-I love a good steak! Mmm! Sorry I don't have any advice on the opks...Rac will definitely have some answers for you. Rac- your surgery sure came fast! I'll be thinking about you on Thursday. JJ- I don't drink coffee either...but I LOVE the smell of it too!! I wish it tasted as good as it smells. I am soooo excited for you this cycle...I can't wait to follow along. Will you start a new thread to document it all? Karyn-I must confess I decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. And I just bought a new tree to add to my collection...since they jack the prices up right after Halloween!Has anyone heard from Lisa? I hope she's ok.

Thanks for the link. It is really interesting how LH is so close to hCG. I don't get the part where she put breast milk in the test though... a little strange!
I wasn't really thinking of it as a hpt (I really don't think think I'm going to get pg until we go back to an re). I'm more worried about high levels of LH in my system. Although... I wouldn't mind if it were hCG it was picking up... lol. Mel - haha - I need to quit peeing on things too. lol. |

Mare - I don't want to freak you out or get your hopes up, but yes, some women have used an opk as a hpt. In fact, Deby (Gratton) got a positive opk when she was pg (prior to the hpt).
Melissa - Have fun at the Symphony. I love getting dressed up and going to things like that!! I had my spa stone workshop this weekend. I've never had a hot stone massage before and OMG is it fantastic!! I have my stones in the cooker as I type (just worked on my neighbor). I was supposed to massage Brad, but he's at the club with the guys shooting guns. My niece's baptism was today and it sucked. I didn't go to the church because of my workshop. When I got to my sister's house, I was bawling. She and my BIL had just pulled in, so she came over to my car to see what was wrong. She gave me a hug as I told her it was just too hard to be there. She told me that I didn't have to go in, but I had already driven all the way out there and I didn't want to hear my mom say something really stupid and insensitive like 'you just need to get over it' (which she has said - I think at the last baptism). I still haven't really seen my new niece. She was in the car carrier sleeping and I didn't even look. Luckily, I didn't stay long because Brad and I were supposed to go to Children's Hospital to see his niece. She was admitted yesterday. Apparently, she's bleeding from her rectum and they don't know why. Her colon is inflammed, too - again, they don't know why. She was supposed to see the GI specialist today and have a colonoscopy tomorrow. |

Rac -- I'm sorry Dh's niece... she will be in my thoughts. Also, I'm sorry about the baptism... that would be really hard to go through.
With regards to the hot stone massage... are there any houses in your neighborhood for sale?? hee hee. I want to be your neighbor!!! I loved my hot stone massage... so relaxing! About the opk, we will see. I don't have my hopes up, as I'm assuming it is just my body being weird. I will ask my doc about it next appointment. Hope everyone has a good day! |

Good morning ladies
Rebecca~How old is DH's niece? I hope they get things figured out with her soon! Sorry the baptism was hard on you...it would be on me too {{HUGS}} Becky~Hi! Haven't seen you post for awhile. Hope everything is going ok. Karyn~The dissolvable stitches make me feel better. I've only had stitches like 2x and I hate them. I'm pretty freaked out about Friday. I just want it here and over with. AF will probably arrive that day. I'm on CD26 now...shockingly enough no spotting. AF is a freaking witch! Do you get pain meds for afterwards.....I remember you saying it felt like you did 1000 sit-ups. I hope I can make it to NKOTB Saturday. Mary~I don't have any huge plans for Halloween. My friends and I are dressing up like Mechanics though...sexy ones of course. Gonna try anyways! We bought these one piece overhauls from some flee market. I got talked into it! My friends b-day is the 1st and we're going out then..... Melissa~When are you going to the NKOTB concert again? I wouldn't want the cousin to go either! But what does being pregnant have anything to do with going to a concert? Maybe i'm stupid and don't understand lol What past halloween costumes do you have? Hope everyone has a good day!! |

JJ - How have the shots been?
Rebecca - Sorry about the rough day yesterday. I hate when you HAVE to do something you really don't want to. That's terrible news about DH's niece, I hope they figure out what's going on with her. Deanna - I did get Tylenol with Codeine. I remember taking them only the first 2 days, I still have half the bottle. Melissa - Sounds like you have great plans for Halloween, how fun! Becky - Good to see you! Sorry about your funk, I hate when I get into one. I always decorate on or right after Thanksgiving! I can't wait. But last year I was a little nuts and did it a week or 2 before! Plus there are 2 craft shows every year at the beginning of November, so after I go and buy stuff, I want to come home and decorate! Mare - I always stop after I get the first + OPK, I don't want to drive myself nuts if I get 1 after I O! It would be a nice surprise if it was detecting HCG! So I have not got my CH yet, but if I change it to FAM then I get it. I think I will just leave it and see what happens in the next couple days. |

Thanks, girls. I know I can always count on you!
Deanna - She's 15. They haven't ruled out the possibility of Colitis or Chrones. She was supposed to have the colonoscopy today, but I haven't talked to SIL yet. Karen - If you dropped the last digit on your temps, I bet you'd get c/h for cd15. |

Hi girls! I cannot believe there are only 2 weeks left in October!!
Rac- <<HUGS>> I hope they figure out what's going on with your niece quickly.Deanna- Hi! I hate it when I'm at a social function and I'm the only one who's childless...makes me feel so uncomfortable. It's especially hard to hear jokes about people getting PG too...I guess IF just never occurs to some people. But I have a friend who dealt with IF(took her 2 years to get pg) and she acts like it never happened. Mel- thanks! I've missed you too! Mare- good luck with those opks/hpts...hee hee. Maybe this is your month?? Karyn- I get like that too...I see all the Christmas decorations out and it makes me wanna get started decorating! I just love the holidays!! JJ- give us an update! Hi to everybody else!

I have now officially given myself two shots, and they haven't been bad at all!!! Last night I didn't feel anything, tonight I felt a little poke as the needle went in. I was surprised at how easy it was. I've had much worse shots and blood draws in the past. These are only sub-q shots though, I'm nervous about the IM ones. So far no side effects from the medicine either (knock on wood) but I realize it's only been two doses, so I'm sure I'll feel something once there's more of a build up.
Becky~I can't believe how fast October is going too. I love this month and it's almost over already! Rebecca~Have you heard more about dh's niece yet? I'm sorry about the baptism. Those kinds of events are always hard Karyn~I love decorating for Christmas too. DH thinks I'm crazy, but oh well Deanna~Ugh about the wedding. I went to a wedding last spring and there was a preggo there and I had to hear all about it, I wasn't even part of the conversation, but she was loud. Then a few months later I went to another wedding that she was at too (same family) and she had given birth by then. I was in the bathroom and I overheard her AGAIN talking all about it. Mare~Thanks for the tip on the ice. I was going to do it the first night, but forgot. But then I didn't feel anything, so I didn't do it tonight. I think once I start the IM ones, I might do that. I also read in the stuff that the doctor gave me to use a heating pad on low. I can take them either in the abdomen or thighs, along the spot where the seam of my pants lies. So far I've just done the abdomen because I don't have to undress as much. LOL Mel~The symphony sounds fun! |
