Hi ladies-
It has been a while since I have posted but I wanted to ask a question. What side effects did you experience with the HcG shot? I just had mine this morning so I'm just wondering what to expect. I also took 50 mg of Clomid this cycle too. I haven't had any side effects so I'm hoping it continues this way. I had the ultrasound done this morning and I have one egg that is measuring 19mm and my lining 11. The nurse said that the numbers were good. Anyone else have any insight as to what the numbers mean? Like I said this is my first time to do all this. I really hope it works.

mommiewantabe-My understanding is that your lining needs to be at least 7 or 8mm and when I had my u/s at the RE I had a follie measuring 23mm and they told me they like to see it over 17mm. I haven't done the shot yet on the clomid so can't help you with that.

Mommie~ Was it a SQ hcg shot, or IM? The subq shots are really easy with little to no s/e. The IM hcg shots I have had leave my butt really sore, but other than that I havent had any s/e. My RE wants my lining around 10. A mature follicle is atleast 18mm, so triggering anytime after that is good.

Em~ Your face looks beautiful!

Lauren-
I'm not sure if it was a IM or SQ shot. The nurse did say to try to relax the butt muscles as much as possible otherwise it can cause soreness the next day it that muscle. So perhaps it was the IM shot. I didn't feel anything when she gave it to me so I sure hope it don't get sore tomorrow.

Mommie~ If it was in your butt it was probably IM. I took the shot at night and was fine, but woke up sore. If you took it in the morning and have walked around all day, it probably distributes the meds better and wont be as sore.

Stephanie- Ok we are just doing a clomid, HcG, and timed intercourse this cycle cause my RE is out of town this month. This is my first cycle of any kind of treatment. I had HSG and blood test last cycle. The Dr. said my tubes have "issues", not blocked but "issues" but the radiologist said they were "normal". Very confusing.... Blood test said I have low progesterone 10.6 on CD 21. All other blood test were fine.
So this cycle I took clomid CD 4-8, u/s today CD 13= one good egg measuring 19mm, lining at 11, got the HcG shot today as well. We were instructed to BD tonight and tomorrow night as well. I go back next Thursday (CD 21) for a blood progesterone test, and then a pregnancy test on the 24th (CD 27).

Yes my husband has a VR two years ago. His numbers look good but the mobility was a little low, not bad but low.

Another question for everyone too....I don't have a lot of EWCM each cycle, not just this one cycle either because of the clomid. I hardly ever have it. I have read alot online about using real eggwhites for a lubercant. Has anyone on this site ever tried it before? If so how do you use them and would you recommend it?

I've never heard of eggwhites being used, and personally wouldnt feel comfortable using raw eggs... BUT, try Preseed. You can buy it online or in some drug stores and it is a sperm friendly lubricant.

I had the same problem with clomid and lack of EWCM; unmedicated, I've always had plenty, but on, not much at all. Also, Betsy's DH used a fertility blend that REALLY increased his swimmers quality. I know the girls have a few websites where you can get preseed...if you are having EWCM probs, GET SOME, and don't wait like I did...I did 7 months ttc w/clomid with no results, but had conceived twice before.

Mommie-I know some random drug stores will carry the Preseed. But most people have to buy it online. I have heard about people using the eggwhites. However, I would stick to the Preseed as it comes recommended. I have hit or miss EWCM. I don't worry about it too much only because we did the postcotial test in July and it showed everything was good.

Yeah I'm going to see where I can purchase some tomorrow. If it doesn't work this cycle then we are going to try a IUI cycle which will pass all the CM issues anyways and his mobility problem.
Thanks for the advise.
