Em - Non-invasive is good! Folic Acid treatments? Do you know what that's all about?

That's pretty cool that his mentor 'discovered' lp defects.

Em~ Sounds great to me! I really think the biopsy is a great idea! I hope it gives you some answers. I havent read about it yet... Do they give you meds beforehand?

Rebecca, I think it's for treatment of gene mutations? Not exactly sure. I found this on the web:

"What you may not know is that folic acid can also play a role in preventing miscarriage. A study last year found that inadequate levels are positively linked to an increased risk of early miscarriage -- by as much as 50% in groups with low levels of folic acid. In addition, the same study found no link between high folic acid levels and increased risk of miscarriage. In addition, if you have tested positive for a gene mutation called MTHFR, there's some evidence that high doses of folic acid can reduce the risk of miscarriage."

Low Folic Acid Linked to Miscarriage

Lauren, the doc said it will only take about 10-15 minutes and that I just need to take ibuprofen beforehand. He said it's not particularly painful, but that I might have cramping. I also can't have sex for a week afterwards to reduce risk of infection, so I better jump on DH tonight

Emily - I'm glad that you liked him. That's good that he is doing further testing before going ahead with any treatments.

Em-I'm glad it went well, you are feeling comfortable and going to get some help. It's a step in the right direction.

Karyn-I also try and stay a bit more positive in front of DH. But lately i think we've both had a hard time being positive. I think it'll come back once we get the green light to move on. We had it initially when we decided to do the injectables. I agree that it's best ot keeping our venting to here!

Hey girls, i need your advice, i´m going crazy over this. Yesterday i took a HPT, since i´m now 6 days late, and i got a really faint BFP, which was exciiting , but mostly im worried, i called my RE, he told me to get a beta, while i was waiting for the results, he did an ultrasound, and said everything looked perfect, then i got my beta results which were only 3.
I dont understand how i can get a positive HPT with a beta of 3????
MY RE told me to wait until friday for another beta.
MY DH is trying to get me to be positive, but im just not feeling it.
HElp!!
Of course im not testing again, it just makes me more crazy.

Mari - I really hope your beta keeps going up. I got a positive with a beta of four a few months ago, so I know how unbelievable it is to think it couldn't possibly be positive with that level. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

Mari - I'll be sending positive vibes your way.

I heard from Jen. Out of the 12 eggs, 10 were mature and 7 fertilized. Now, it's a waiting game to see how they develope in the next few days.

Go Jen! 7 eggs fertilized is great!

Em - Sounds like your Dr. is really for finding out what is going on not just trying to medicate. I like that he has you in so soon for a biopsy. FYI, I guess I was on the aspirin and Folic acid treatment and never fully thought of it.......actually I'm still on it. I take my prenatal a baby aspiring and extra 400 of folic acid

Steph - Yay for getting the bonus! Great job on the sale and it was great to read that your really starting to take care of yourself

Mari - I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you........hopefully its late implantation and you caught that bfp really early

Tina, I think I will try taking extra folic acid next cyle on my own. It doesn't sound like it's harmful, and my longest pregnancy was when I was religiously taking prenatal vitamins. I've been taking a women's one a day lately and maybe they don't have enough folic acid. I know it's not good to self-diagnose, but it surely can't hurt! I need to be much better about taking pills.

This is my plan for next cycle:
Prenatal
Vitamin B6
Baby Aspirin
Folic Acid

Next cycle is our last chance before Juan goes home, so if we can't catch a sticky next month, we're waiting until mid-march or april to try again. Ugh.

Wow, there's been good news today! Heidi didn't you say a little while ago you felt good luck was heading our way?

Jen - Good luck, 7 is awesome!

Mari - I hope it's just early and your beta skyrockets tomorrow!!

Emily - I knew someone that had 2 miscarriages for unknown reasons and her doctor put her on extra folic acid. She had a healthy baby boy earlier this summer!
