Default Need advice...

Hi everyone... My name is Missy, and I am new to this site. Here is a little about my background... my husband and I were married three years ago. We decided about two years ago to start trying to conceive. Each month of trying we began to add more "steps" with helping us along in the process. After one year of trying total, we tested and discovered we were pregnant. The day after Christmas this year I discovered I miscarried... I was 8 weeks along.

Long story short, we are now thinking to start "super ovulation" which includes IUI next month. Has anybody had a good or bad experience with IUI? I have been on clomid for two months now, but a very low dosage. My problems with infertility, I have discovered in this whole process, is I have moderate endometriosis and that causes both infertility as well as miscarriages.

I would truly appreciate any/ all advice.

Thanks!

Missy

Welcome Missy! We had some hackers last week and have lost the introduction page. I'm sorry you and DH are having such a hard time. I don't have experience with any fertility treatments but I'm sure lots of the other girls can give you advice. Welcome and good luck!

Missy, welcome! I am so sorry that you expeirenced a loss and have to deal with infertility.
I have taken clomid in the past and am now just kind of taking a break. I have not done IUI and probably wont because of the cost and I have 2 beautiful girls. As much as I want another I think we will stop our fertility treatments at clomid.

One of the girls on here just had an IUI and we are waiting to see if she was succesful, her name is RebeccaQ and you can find some of her posts in the TTC are under the TTC over 6 mths.

Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hi Missy,

I just completed my first Clomid / IUI cycle. Unfortunately, it was not successful. and today I start the clomid again. I have PCOS so my story is a little different then yours.

I am on 100 mg of clomid. days 5-9. on day 15 I go for an ultrasound and blood work then do the HCG shot that night - then 36 hours later go in for the iui. It wasn't painful at all. I do have some of the clomid side effects including fatique and some weight gain. To me the clomid is the worst part.

We are going to do 3 iui's then go to ivf.

Welcome to the boards, Missy! I have never been on anything for ttc. My DH and I have been trying a long time, and this summer is our time to really try and find out what's going on! I recently went to an RE for an U/S and bloodwork. The nurse mentioned the idea that I may have endometriosis. I am now wondering about this. We haven't been able to yet pinpoint any cause to our IF, and I'm thinking maybe this could be what is wrong.

Anyway, welcome, and good luck! This is a really good place to be to talk with others in similar situations. Everyone is very friendly... hope you enjoy it here!
