Mel - Heidi had the hysteroscopy and since all she had was a cyst it worked out well for her to do the less invasive procedure - but I'm pretty sure they identified the cyst with an u/s beforehand and I don't think she had any endo symptoms. I don't know what to recommend but I can't help thinking that I would rather just do the 1 big procedure than run the risk of having to have them both... but of course thats all depending on whether you have endo! I can't believe that with all the technology advancements they have no way of figuring that out w/o cutting us open!!!

I know! I'm so conflicted now. In my heart of hearts, I think I have endo, but I'm not assertive enough to tell the doctor I want this procedure because of my gut feeling and then feel like a total jacka$$ for spending big bucks for them to do a procedure and find nothing. I always thought they could detect endo with the u/s...sigh, why can't I get these procedures straight?

Yes it plain sucks that they have to cut us open to look for that.....but, we CAN give an 80yo man a four hour woody! Wooohooo for technological priorities.

Mel-I think that your blocked tube should count for more than a gut feeling. I mean, endo blocking a tube makes sense. And then there is your crazy bleeding. Let's not forget that. I'll go talk to your Dr, if you want

Hi

So I have my RESOLVE meeting on Sunday, which I have absolutely no desire to do. I want to hand each of them a bottle of wine and go here is your cure, go have at it. I should probably have the therapist there just so I can behave.

I'm 3 weeks away from my EDD and all of a sudden in the last week, I feel a sense of desperation. Thought I was over that. All part of the process I guess.

updates:
1- my kitties are absolutely wonderful. the 3 of us are very much in love with each other and no one else is allowed in our threesome.
2- Got a unexpected raise at work yesterday.
3- My marriage is still adjusting. Or maybe it's just me. Either way, apparently quitting TTC isn't an automatic fix to relieving stress out of your marriage.

Oh and here is a blinkie for the IF chickies. I showed it to Carlos and told him since he passed out during my injection he doesn't really love me.

Ahhhhh...I love ya Betsy.

The EDD thing can slap you in the back of the head. It did me and Rebecca both something fierce. The anniversaries suck, but the actual EDDs...ugh. The desperation...yeah.

It's going to take a while to adjust I'm sure. No surprise there to me.

Betsy - Yes, the EDD is a slap in the back of the head. Two years later and it still bothers me something fierce. I feel robbed. There's no other way to put it.

Betsy/Steph/Rebecca <huge hugs> I haven't lived through mine yet I told Betsy already that she hit me where it hurt with one of the blinkies she posted on the TTC side because my EDD would have been right around DH's bday in December.

Mel - can I come too? Actually I want to visit your old doctor to deliver a slap!

still feeling shameful for making Irene cry.

So here is an article Pa. woman claims she bought baby; Real mom sought - Yahoo! News

here is the REALLY sad part. 5 years ago, I would have been completely apalled and disgusted by this kind of story, wonder what kind of demented mind can do this. And poor baby & bio mother.

And now...after meeting so many women through resolve who have had some time of mental trauma from IF, therapy, marriages ruined, seeing pink lines when they don't exist, even suicide attempts I can't help but completely sympathize with this woman and hope she gets help so she can move past her loss. And to think her first offense was in ''91 that's 17 years!!!! 17 years of trying to recapture something you lost. Depressing.

I took the day off today to run a zillion errands, and have only gotten 2 done!!!

Betsy, I love that you made her quote into a blinkie. *bittersweet smile* It really is so profound.

Steph - do you remember her? I kept her name attached, cause she was writing memoirs and was talking to a publisher, that way if she is ever famous, I have her quote. =)

Betsy - I love that quote. I always have from the first time you posted it. I can't bring myself to reading the article, though. It's been a far too emotional day for me. I'm off now to do some manual labor.

I was wondering about that blinkie... it is a beautiful saying but so sad at the same time.

Oh yeah, I remember when you first brought that to us. It really struck a chord.

Mel-Just wanted to say Irene is right about the surgery I had. They found a large polyp during a saline u/s. It was pretty easy overall and quick recovery as they only go through the vagina and no cutting like in the lap. I know you are struggling with a possible blocked tube and what to do. My RE wanted to jump to a lap a year ago without any diagnosis of anything. I wouldn't let him do surgery until the u/s proved there was soemthing there. So may be you can push for the additional saline u/s to see if it shows anything in the uterus. If you want any other details feel free to PM me. G/L with whatever you decide to do.

Thanks, Heidi! I really appreciate that. In all honesty, I'm actually terrfied of the saline u/s (I hope to god that it is different from the hysteroscopy). My friend had that done the day I had my HSG done and she was bedridden for days! She's going to get a lap done next.

Mel-The saline u/s is really painless. Less than even the HSG. All they do is insert a saline solution into the uterus and then do a vaginal u/s. Lauren has done it as well and I believe she had the same experience. With the hysteroscopy you are put under (at least I was). Or they will numb the area so you can't feel it. I have read on other boards women that didn't go under and I personally would recommend being put under. Hopefully your friends experience with the saline u/s was not common.
