Steph- *smack* Stop freaking out! I think that you don't NEED to, but if it will make you feel better-jaunt down there and get something concrete. Hey, You'd be amazed how long you can go off a couple of grand in your pocket, though.

*sigh* Yeah, I was out on the ledge a couple hours ago.

I called my dad, cause I knew he would understand. He is the Colonel...he rarely does things in life without them being 'squared away'. So I was telling him that I was panicking and did he think I should go down there and what if this and what if that and there were so many variables it was ALL variables...and he said, basically 'look, I know the landlord (himself), you're not going to get thrown out if you end up needing to spend some time looking for a job. Stop panicking. Unless the really WANT you to come down, it's only a month. Stop worrying about it. There are only a handful of people in the country who can do the combination of things you do. They'll wait. You have a nice house waiting for you. That's it.'

So that was good.

Well, that's kinda what I thought-what with the landlord being family & all.....I don't know about you, but sometimes I just need my Daddy to tell me it's all OK. It drives my DH nuts that he doesn't have that talent!

Yeah. Exactly. I needed him specifically to tell me it was okay -- he's the only one who understands how scary it is to me to be doing something that feels so out of control. I think Daniel has had trouble feeling like he doesn't measure up to my dad too. Unfortunately, he's right. But he could be. He has that good man in him.

I am and always have been a big time 'Daddy's Girl', and strong and capable (and burdened) like him all at the same time. Over the past year and a half, he's the one single person in my life who would just be around, or not. He'd pat me on the shoulder every now and then and tell me it was going to be okay, without asking me anything, fussing at me, or any of that. He's worked to keep the peace. He came and scraped me up off the floor (literally) last February when I was drunk as a skunk, cause I called the house and then hung up (I drunk-dialed my own parents ), but he called right back (this was a week after my run-in with too many ambien at work and my little ride in the nice ambulance), and he just came over to get me. He told me I had done what he said, and that if I was in trouble to just call, so it was okay, and that no matter what I wasn't alone, and WE were going to get through this. He'll do things like hand me a hundred dollars and say 'put that in your pocket'. Help when I need it always, of any kind. I have a really good daddy. We've not spent great amounts of time together, or talking or anything, but our relationship has shifted in this past year and a half. I feel like we're closer; like he sees me, and he's just trying to do the best he can to prop me up a little when I can't take another step, without asking me for anything, including even to talk about things.

I'm babbling. It's been one of those 'on the ledge' days, so I'm feeling a little sloppy I guess.

Sounds a lot like my dad. I put him through hell as a teen, and I thank God that I have gotten the chance to mend those bridges and learn SO much about him in working with him everyday. And as an only child AND "daddy's girl" I'm one spoiled brat!

Steph- I was thinking the same thing.. it is sitting empty now with no renter so one extra month of leeway (sp?) for you to get settled can't hurt your family in the long run and would give you time to get "settled" NO STRESSING. This is your chance, your do over. Don't get in your head.. Go with the flow. TIME for a NEW start.

Lisa - Hi! I wish I was coming to eat w/ you for the 4th. I think we're going to the horse races so we'll probably have nachos and beer.

Steph - aren't Daddies the best? I asked my dad for some gas $ to visit for Easter and ever since, he keeps randomly paying for things or giving me $. I guess asking for help was a good idea.

Steph~ I was a big time daddy's girl, too. It's weird how much Kaleb is like my dad. Even my mother commented (after finally coming to visit me and meet Jaicee) about how I "got one just like daddy." I'm so excited for you to GO TO FLORIDA already! You can do this. You will have/find a job and everything will be ok. Then I will head over to Einsteins bagels, get us something to eat, and meet you on the beach. Seriously though, I'm a worrier, too. Keep us posted, although I know you will.

Claire~ I keep meaning to tell you - I freakin LOVE your Xena Warrior Princess dollie. What a riot! Where did you get it?

Lisa~ I also want what you're having for the 4th of July.

Betsy~ It sounds like you'll have a nice time over the 4th. YAY for some alone time with Carlos. How are you doing?

Ladies I wish you all could come for the 4th and join us, wouldn't that be FUN? I did get my peaches yesterday for my ice cream, I bought two baskets from a local peach grove, and boy are they wonderful this year. I just love fresh peaches! The house smelled so good this morning, I ate one for breakfast and have two for lunch today.

Steph, quit trying to pick this apart, just do it. Get your stuff sorted and packed while you are off, get it already to go. Things will fall into place, you will see. When it is the right thing to do, it all falls into place. Your Dad sounds great, you are lucky to have him. My Dad was good like that too. Until he knew his days were numbered we never told each other a lot we loved one another, and he sure couldn't say he was sorry, but actions always spoke louder than words.

I hope everyone has a wonderful 4th tomorrow. Even more I hope July is good to us all. Here to the ladies on this board, may we all receive great things this month in our lives.

Y'all are the best, you know that? I've settled a bit, just had a tough day yesterday. You are all right. Just do that some more if I start to panic again. *breathebreathebreathing*

Jenna ~ I about had a fit for a second, b/c I thought you said they had Einsteins in Florida. *thud* Okay, yes, you have to bring me some then. THAT'S IT! The only guest requirement for coming to stay in my guest room is bring me something good from your part of the country. Bonus points if it's something from my past I liked. ROFL!

Jenna- Thanks . You know, I just searched "Xena" on photobucket. Just got lucky and nabbed it from someone else.

Lisa- What is a "boston butt"? I keep trying to imagine and all I come up with is the rear end of a Red Sox player in those nice pants they wear.......

Oh Claire I about wet may pants when I read what you were picturing a boston butt, but hey they do like nice in those baseball pants don't they? Boston Butt is a cut of pork that comes from the upper part of the shoulder from the front leg and may contain the blade bone. Great to cook on a barbeque pitt. Thanks I really needed that laugh today.

Teeheee... Boston Butt is GOOD! Both kinds.

Is there a way to delete A Baby Story from playing on my TV? I just cannot turn the damn thing off. It's like a car accident... you dont want to look, but you cannot help yourself...
