Enjoy Ireland!!! Funny about BioRad and Genentech, a lot of the items we use in the lab come from BioRad, and a lot of people who work at my company (Wyeth, soon to be Pfizer) went out to Cali to work at Genentech. I'm pretty lucky to be in the Boston area because we have plenty of biotech companies around us. Although I feel pretty lucky because my company is about 25 minutes North of Boston so that makes my commute coming from Southern NH pretty nice, it's only about 30 minutes.

I also just want to say I can't believe it is July already. The weather in New England this summer so far has been horrible!! I think we only got like 4-5 days of sun for the entire month of June and the temps have been low. We haven't even turned the AC on this year so far, nice on the electric bill, but I'd gladly pay more and get some nice weather!!!

My egg was on the right side!!! 23x23 (it was 20x19 last cycle)!!!! I predict my OPK pos. tonight or tomorrow so she wants to set the IUI up for Friday! So that works perfect we both do not have to miss work and we can go together for the whole thing! I was so relieved, but I know it's only one hurdle crossed. I am sooo afraid that its not going to work but I can't think like that for the next two weeks so I am going to do my thing and try to relax!!

Cassie- Yeah for going ahead with IUI this week! So exciting! That would be cool if you got a BFP around the same time as you got Rylee's!
Well my follow up went well. His suggestion to us was to do 3-4 cycles of clomid/trigger/IUI/progesterone and then move on to IVF. A little overwhelming, but we sat and talked about it for a while and I think I decided on 2 cycles of clomid/progesterone with timed intercourse and monitoring and then IUI and then take it from there, four months just seems soooo close to be trying IVF... On the other hand I have already met my insurance deductibles for this year, so the IVF wouldn't cost us anything, but if we waited until 2010 it would cost us close to $3,000. I hate to make decisions based strictly on money, but that's a big chunk. Ahhhhhhhh I'm going in tomorrow morning (CD 3) for bloodwork and an ultrasound and he'll start me on the clomid tomorrow or CD 5 depending on blood test results. One other thing I didn't fully appreciate is that I also have PCOS. My old RE (in the same practice, I just switched to one that deals with endo) did make mention of it, but he said my insulin and throid levels were within normal ranges. I never really thought twice about it because it sorta seemed to me that it was something that gets over diagnosed. My new RE was actually more adament about it, especially since I haven't shaved since the surgery he noticed "excess hair growth" (sorry if that's tmi!!), he said with the excess hair growth, acne (which I have suffered with since I was freakin 12), and irregular cycles that I have PCOS. I guess this gives me even more motivation to eat better and exercise regularly, I could definately stand to lose 20 or so pounds... Anyhow, I'm excited to get started with the clomid. Edit: Forgot to mention DHs SA results were wonderful! now 95 million/mL 86% mobility 6% morphology rapid movers past 20 million/mL 70% mobility 7% morphology slow movers He was acting like a teenager trying to show off a really cool car when we got those, hahaha

Stephanie ~ You're complaining about the weather on the east coast??? That sounds like GREAT weather to me!!! We have what Cap'n calls 'Soul-sucking' heat where we live!!! I can't bear to go outside, but I was quite glad that it didn't heat up until much later this year.
Also, I got diagnosed with PCOS as well. I'm totally with you on that being over-diagnosed. My RE diagnosed me with it solely based on me being overweight, I think my acne too...but my hormone levels are fine and I do not have excessive hair growth. But whatever. I take metformin for it, although, I'm only taking it one time a day since being on vacation b/ it can give me diarrhea if I eat the wrong things and I want to enjoy my trip and not be constantly looking for a bathroom, IYKWIM??? Becky ~ I'm in the 300s of Breaking Dawn. I read 235 pages just on the flight! I quite surprised myself b/ I'm such a SLOW reader!!! I think I might like this book the best!!! Cassie ~ Yay for a +OPK!!! That's funny that you mentioned dates, I was thinking that if we BD'd in time for O and by some miracle, I got a +HPT, I could possibly get to tell Cap'n the good news on our 4th wedding anniversary which is on the 15th. I'm trying not to think about it too much but with the jetlag, I find myself up at 3 a.m. with nothing to think about but that!!! Hello, everyone else!!! Trip is going great. I was up at 3 a.m. twiddling my thumbs again. I woke Cap'n up and made him suffer with me. There was a major thunderstorm which dumped 3 weeks worth of rain in 90 minutes! There are some interesting channels on the tele at 3 a.m.! One shows a Big Brother type of show and you can watch the people in the house sleeping! There is this channel that shows downtown Dublin 24/7 and we watching part of the storm on TV, it was cool to see the TV and the window light up simultaneously! I know, we're nerds! Today we went on a tour of some really old crypts and took in the country side. Now we're enjoying some Haagen-Dazs at an internet cafe. |

Rac- aww...that's too bad about Steph's trip.
Mel- I agree...Breaking Dawn's my favorite...I think cause it's what I was waiting for from the very beginning. Cassie- don't worry...they will ask you to verify your DH's info before they put it in you.

Cassie - Good luck today!!!!!
Melissa - I can't wait to see pictures of your trip! Sounds like you are having fun already, 3am bd'ing, ice cream, etc.!!! I think Breaking Dawn was my favorite out of the books. Stephanie - Yeah for great numbers!!! What a relief! That's great you can get started right away this cycle! Becky - Hi!! We will be at the campground all weekend. Sunday after the pool closes, I might have DH meet me on the way home for a beer! What are you guys doing? Bummer about waiting another week. I really hope your Estrogen starts to go down soon so you can move forward! My sister came with her kids on Tuesday and stayed a few days, then yesterday we had to help my other sister move. I haven't had anytime to get on my computer! When I got home last night, I had to clean and do laundry since we won't be home much this weekend. I have to run and do some errands before I go to the campground. I hope everyone has a great 4th!!! |
