Deanna- my prolactin was 28 the first time, about a year ago, i was on dostinex for 2 months i think, and they went back to normal. Last week , my level was 32 now, so im back on dostinex, 2 times a week, for about 8 weeks.
My RE said that my high prolactin levels, could affect my estrogen and LH levels. I dont know if its just me, but i couldnt hurt to have them checked.
take care.

Good morning girls It is sooooo windy at my house this morning. I think its
-20!!

Mari~I think the next time I go back to see my dr i'm going to ask if I can be put on something. I wonder if my level being boarderline high would cause me to spot after ovulation. If it can throw those other things off Who knows!

Betsy~Good luck with your u/s this morning!! I'll be thinking of you

Mari - With the most recent past experiences at my gyn's office, I've just felt like a number rather than a person. I talked to my sister for a bit last night to talk to her about a midwife center that she had gone to. She loved it. I am going to call them this morning to see if they are accepting new patients then I will attempt to call my Dr's office to see about getting records sent to RHS and TMC. I attempted to call them yesterday and the phone was busy every single time in about 1 1/2 hour time span. Now, that's just ridiculous. My sister said that The Midwife Center is all about personal care. They only have three exam rooms and they have three birthing rooms with bathrooms and jacuzzi tubs. WHEN I get pg, I think that would be the most awesome way to go through labor - outside of the sterilized, but germ infested hospitals with the allopathic medicine world pushing drugs and c-sections on their patients. Here's a link... check it out.

The Midwife Center | About Us

Betsy - I think from what Beth said, it does not include a wash. Once we get there for the consult, I will be sure to ask all of those things.

Heidi - After what you and Dana have said about how differently you're treated, I am really looking forward to the consultation - and speaking with the Midwife Center, for that matter.

Deanna - If you know your prolactin is too high, I would definitely ask about it and how it affects everything else. If you have low estrogen, you may not have a strong O (since the rise in estrogen is what triggers the fsh and lh), hence a lower progesterone level. It's crazy how every little thing affects the whole vicious cycle.

btw - the pup in your avatar looks like a little stuffed animal. Too Cute!!

Hi girls!

I woke up feeling so much better today, I have been in A LOT of pain. They found quite a bit of endometriosis. The RE said he removed most of it & there is some microscopic endo that he can't remove so I have to take a shot for 3 months that will put me in a "menopausal state" & should take care of it. That was a surprise to wake up to! I'm just glad I went ahead with the Lap. I have a follow up with him next Friday so I do have a ton of questions! I don't remember talking to the RE at all after surgery! So I am just going on what DH remembers. I barely could sit up on my own so I have been stuck in bed, I feel 50% better though today! DH is off work today so I'm sure he will be like my warden!

I have to go back & read now!

I had no idea! I have read what some of the symptoms are but I didn't have any! I do have bad cramps sometimes but nothing else. I was quite surprised! The RE said we are fine to start trying after the 3 months of those shots, I wish DH rememered the name! Oh no, DH is up & saying from the bedroom - You better not be on the computer! I gotta go! I'll try to sneak back on later, maybe I'll send him to the store for something!

I was just going to ask that Em. I think it is Lupron. The girl I work with has Endo pretty bad and she was put into menopause with shots too.

Karyn~I'm glad you feel better today. Thats good they were able to remove most of the endo, even though it came as a huge shock. Do you have any idea where it was located? My old Dr said that I might have it too. Maybe on my bowel or behind my uterus. I don't have bad cramps at all and don't have any symptoms. I just have spotting after I O, but think thats something else thats off! Thanks for updating us! I was wondering

I've heard mixed things about Lupron. I think maybe Lauren was on it before starting IVF too? I think some women say it's makes them go crazy.

Emily - I've read bad things about Lupron, too. I know that Jend didn't like taking it and this last successful ivf cycle she used something else.... no lupron.

I guess we're all speculating, but it does sound like Lupron is commonly used to treat endo. Karyn, if that is what he's asking you to take, you might want to ask him about something called "add-back" therapy. I think Lupron supresses estrogen levels, so they sometimes give you a counter drug to offset the effects of that.

From what I've been reading, the drug forces your body to go through all the changes that peri-menopausal/menopausal women go through, (weight gain, mood swings, hot flashes, migraines) but instead of spread out over time, it happens really quickly and intensely. Not trying to scare you sweetie, just make sure you are comfortable with what your doc wants you to do, especially if you aren't having any pain.

Good morning all~
Just got back from the dr and apparently the follies on my right side have disappeared but the 2 larger ones on the left are still there, and growing, but slowly. They have only grown to 13, and I will probably go back Friday to see if there is any change.

Yes, Lupron can give some people some rough side effects. I never had any. I didnt notice any difference while on it. My first IVF cycle I was on Lupron, and my last 2 cycles I was on micro-dose lupron which is just a smaller, more diluted form. Lupron really supresses everything, so since I was a poor responder, they felt like it was supressing me too much.

Karyn~ I thougt about you all day yesterday. I am sorry they found endo, but I am so glad they were able to remove most of it!

Bec~ I was so happy to hear about your plans for ttc. It is nice that you and DH can talk openly about your next steps. *hugs*

Em~ HI!

Mari~ Hi! I'm glad to see you here!

Steph~ That is AWESOME about the weight loss! I cannot wait to see your skinny pictures!

Heidi~ HI!

Karyn-Glad you're feeling better and everything went ok. I've heard lots of times women don't have signs of endo as well. Hopefully this will put you on the right track! I don't know anything about the drug but agree with the other girls make sure you get everything answered to your comfort level.

Mari-Glad to see you posting!

Lauren-Sorry to hear the follies aren't all cooperating.

Betsy-I don't like rules either......which is probably why I have a hard time working for a government agency!

Steph-Congrats on the contiued weith loss.

Hi Em and Deanna.

Lauren, I absolutely second wishing your body would cooperate! As a matter of fact, I think that will be my prayer/universe wish 'line' for you; that your body cooperates.

Thanks for the congrats on my body makeover, y'all. I'll post some pix soon.

Crap that was scary! My boss had just come from the hardware store next door and there were three 8 foot fluorescent bulbs standing up against a counter, and they fell and made this HUGE smash! I'm in the back, so all I heard was the crash, I thought a light fixture fall and smashed a case or something. Believe you me, you do NOT want to hear the sound of smashing glass in a jewelry store. Okay, I'm awake now. {EEK}
