Rac- don't let that get you down. I mean, how can they possibly think that the adhesion isn't related to IF? I flat disagree. I'm glad you'll be under for the removal- I was worried about that for you, but didn't want to scar you.
Glad the accupuncture is going well. Are you quitting smoking now? Or just getting your body geared up to quit? Last edited by Claire6389 : 09-30-2008 at 07:03 PM. |

Claire - I'm not afraid to be put under. I've done it twice for LEEP and once for wisdom teeth. It's a breeze. I've been cutting back on smokes, which is a start. I *think* about quitting every day (you know how that goes). My mind is weak when it comes to stressors and I give in.

Rac, don't let her get you down. It doesn't matter how small the adhesion is if that is where the embryo has been trying to implant it can't. Either way it still needs to be removed. I too am so glad you will be asleep...much better in my opinion!!! Good job on trying to kick butt! Keep up the good work. (((Hugs)))

RAC sorry about your news, but I agree with the others it could be a major impact on carrying a baby, get it removed and move on from there.
Your acupuncture appointments sound so inviting, has me considering it. Found one not far from where I work and they are certified with their speciality in infertility too. Hmmmm. You go cutting back on your smoking, just remember on all this, one step at a time.

Rebecca-Glad you will be under. I was too and frankly prefer it that way! I thought it was overall a pretty easy recovery. I have to disagree as well with the doctor. I would think it would be similar to the polyp situation. And the RE told me it may or may not be the cause but lets get it out so we know it's not a factor any more. The other thing I liked is that my next cycle the RE didn't just say try on your own and still had me do the injectables. Hopefully this will take care of everything for you.

Has anyone had intense soreness with your progesterone injections? I have not had a problem with the lupron (SQ) or estrogen (IM) injections but my hip hurts so badly from the progesterone in ethyl oleate last night. It didn't hurt injecting it or after but today it feels as if someone kicked me in the bum
I just took my progesterone (double the dose from last night) and estrogen shot (two different shots) tonight and again they didn't hurt inserting or injecting the medication but I am afraid I won't be able to walk tomorrow if both hips hurt this bad. Any suggestions? I hope it was just a fluke... I don't know if my bum can take this for 10 weeks ![]() |

Kristy - I know that Jend had a terrible problem with the PIO injections the first time around. I think originally it was in olive oil?? She had them switch her to a different blend. I remember her butt being so sore that she couldn't even sit comfortably.

The progesterone is much thicker than the Estrogen shots. They are tougher, and make you more sore. The only thing that helped me a little was having DH really rub (into the muscle) the place where I had the shot, which helped distribute some of the meds, so it didnt sit and lump up.

Thanks Lauren. What was your progesterone mixed in? I know they have different types and I would hate to switch but OMG my bum hurts. I can barely touch it much less even think about shoving another needle in it tonight
Rac, sorry I just noticed I hijacked your thread. I saw the title with "IVF question" and thought it was a different thread. |

Mine were in oleate too, which isnt supposed to be as thick as the oil. I have heard the oil is worse. If you can, do the other hip tonight for both of them, then you always have 48 hours between on each side. At least then if one hip hurts, it will have a break for a couple of days. ((hugs))

Claire - She said that I will probably have some mild cramping and spotting. No bd till the spotting stops (maybe we'll actually try this cycle.). I should be able to go to work the next day, providing that the 'fog' has lifted! It's an IV anesthesia - so no goofy gas or anything.
Girls who have had this done.... (Melissa, Heidi....) any input?? |
|
||||
|
Rebecca-Glad you got to schedule it! I also had the IV and was knocked out. I actually took the following day off. They told me no lifting or activities for 24 hours. They said you're pretty much back to normal after 48 hours and can resume normal activities. I had some AF cramping and had to wear a pad for what was like having AF for about a day. After that I remember I was fine and was able to do whatever. If you can afford to take Friday off I would just so you can chill out at home. Overall not a bad experience and not too painful just kind of uncomfortable.

Thanks, Heidi. Only thing is, I've already burnt up so many vacation days for doctor's appointments, I only have 3 left and 1 'sick' day. I'm hoping my boss will let me use a cww day. If he does, then I'll ask for a vacation day Friday.
