Jen - Yep, I remember seeing Freedom Drug on the sheet that I got.

I remember your OHSS. I'm glad yours wasn't a more severe case.

Rac, the other night I was laying and bed and after thinking of you and saying a prayer for you, a thought came to me. I think I remember reading you didn't want to do IVF because you wouldn't want to dispose or donate your leftover embroys and that your RE wouldn't do an unmedicated cycle. After thinking of every situation possible, what if you did a regular IVF cycle and didn't fertilize all of the eggs, maybe only 4, and then froze the rest of the eggs unfertilized in case you needed them later. Then they could put two embryos in and freeze two for the following cycle if it didn't work or for a brother or sister in a few years if it did work. Then, you wouldn't have leftover embryos that didn't get used, it would just be empty eggs that didn't get fertilized, similar to every month when AF comes. Just a thought....

Kristy - Hmmm, that's an option - if my RE would do it. I guess they could pick the best three to fertilize and see what happens. I don't want to start thinking about that now, though. IVF is like $10k with no insurance coverage and, although she can afford it, I don't think I could ever ask MIL for that much $$. I will keep that in mind, though and bring it up to my RE if the next clomid cycle doesn't work. Might not be a bad idea to invite MIL to the meeting with the RE!! She wanted to go to our last IUI, so why not go when we talk about options and finances??? j/k - Dh would NEVER go for that!

Most places do not attempt to freeze eggs that are unfertilized. I dont think they have figured out how to do it successfully without damaging the eggs. They only freeze embryos.

Lauren - I think I'd even be okay with letting any extras go, since like Kristy mentioned, it wouldn't be much different than a regular cycle when the egg(s) just die. Heck, I've wasted so many eggs at this point, what's a couple more??

I pray your next IUI works and I think taking her along with you to listen to the options would be a great idea. Then she would know what you have tried and what the best options are for you.

Rebecca- I am so sorry! I have been so caught up about me I didn't think to ask how things were going for you. I will support you in any decision you make. I had a friend just do IVF and she ended up with only 2 viable fertilized embryos which they did transfer. She is about 2 months along. She also had no IVF or infertility insurance coverage. She got a Medical Credit card from Capital One. She had been trying for 8 years for at least one little baby. If you have any questions regarding the credit card let me know and I can ask her. She is a world of knowledge. I do wish you all of the luck with this cycle. So, you won't have to cross any bridges that you are unsure of. I will be praying for you.

Heidi - I hope you're checking over here. I was just on Freedomdrug's website looking at prices. Dee's info sheet says that I'd need Gonal F 900 iu or 450 iu. When I'm on the drug site, they're both listed. The 450 iu is $358.50 and the 900 iu is $717.00. My question is this.....is this enough for the whole cycle or is it only for one pen?? The ovidrel is only 44.25, which isn't too bad. I'm looking at those gonal f prices and

I just got off the phone with a guy from Medmark (a division of Wallgreens). Their prices are DOUBLE!! Literally, double..... GonalF is $619.35 and $1238.70. Unbelievable.

Another question.... how much monitoring did you have while doing the injections??

I know this is premature, but if I have to go down this road, I'd like to be as informed as possible. That way, if dh agrees to let his mom help, I'll have a better ball park figure for her.

I'm picking up my last clomid prescription today. Hopefully, this one works and I don't have to get into the injectables.

Jeeeeez. God, I would write everyone a check for things like this if I had money. I swear it. I hate that MONEY becomes a factor in IF, you know?

Why the #$%* is this crap so expensive? Because it can be?
