Hi girls, I hope you are all doing well, and had great Christmases, and are looking forward to a new year. I'm still here in Minnesota with my family, and luckily time has been passing quickly, so now only a few days until I go to see my DH in Mexico!

I want to warn you - on Friday night we went to see Juno. I have to admit, it is a super funny movie - but it is about a 16 year-old who gets pregnant and gives her baby to an adoptive family that is in infertile. I laughed enough that it didn't bother me, but there were a few digs about being infertile that maybe would have bothered me a bit if my emotions were a little more raw.

Now for my rant. Tonight I went out to dinner with my mom and dad. We started talking about my dad's friend having adopted the son of his wife, and I said how I thought adoption was just awesome, because when you adopt someone it means that you really, really wanted that child. My mom turned to me, in the middle of a super crowded restaurant, and said "I've been meaning to ask you - how did that movie make you feel? Was it hard for you to watch?" I know she meant no harm, but I was so caught off guard that I burst into tears and told her that it was totally inappropriate for her to be asking me that, and particularly in a public place. I had to leave the table and went to cry and text Betsy in the bathroom.

I think that people who never struggled with IF will never understand what it feels like. So, I drank three sidecars and a half a bottle of wine and felt better.

Emily ~ I'm so sorry. DH and I just got back from seeing Juno and just like you said there were funny parts and some parts that stung. All I can say is sometimes parents just don't understand, *big hugs* FYI "You're totally boss"

It was really a funny movie, though, no?!! I thought that girl was so great in her part. Mostly I wish my mom would just shut it sometimes. She felt really badly about it, but seriously, that's not exactly dinner conversation at the local pub. I highly recommend sidecars as appropriate treatment for tactless mothers! Especially when they're paying.

Hey girls!

Heidi - I have never been under before. DH is coming with me so I hope that will ease some of the nervousness! I'm also worried about a catheter, never had one of those. Does it hurt like heck? I'm getting something shoved into my bellybutton and I'm worried about if the catheter will hurt! I guess because I will be awake for that! That would be great to be pg buddies!

Snowie - Well it's hooked up now! DH didn't really have any time to do it until yesterday morning, so of course that's the first thing he did when he woke up! Plus we wanted to get a new table to set it on, we aren't hanging it on the wall yet, if ever. I don't want it anywhere permanent yet, I have to make sure the Living room is the way I want it! I have to say, those TV's are pretty cool, I think I'm done feeling bad for getting it

Steph - Glad to hear that you are feeling better. What are your plans tonight?

HB - I was hoping to get BD everyday in from Sat - Wed/Thurs. Although, I'm not counting on it tonight! Who knows what time we will finally get in bed!

Emily - Yeah for almost seeing DH!!!! That sucks that your mom asked that, especially in a crowded restaurant. I think that's the hardest, being asked something about Infertility, when you're totally caught off guard. We don't have time to think or absorb it and our feelings just come pouring out. Did your dad love the new toy you got him?

Hi to everyone else!

We are having people here tonight, so I need to get cleaning today! Our one friends that stay over usually bring all or 2 of their kids. I usually don't mind but it's like STAY AWAY FROM THE TV! They usually end up playing playstation but there's a cord that's busted on it. The boys are 7 & 10. I mean they are good kids but when we are in the basement, I'm always wondering "What are they touching upstairs?" I don't want to be worried while I'm trying to get a good buzz on!

Em-Glad the trip is helping time pass. That's awesome only a few more days til you get to see Juan. You're absolutely right that people who never struggle with IF have no idea. Dh and I just tlaked about this the other day. He asked why I don't tell/talk to more people about it. I told him its because people don't understand the heartache, emotions and frankly what goes into getting pg. Therefore, I get opinions and input that are off the way and just don't need. And lastly I culdn't agree more about mother's just needing to shut it. Mine finally asked yesterday if I had any doctor appts. coming up and I lied. Told her no and we were doing a few more tests before moving forward. She asked if I knew the results of the tests and said no. DH couldn't believe I didn't tell her about the upcoming surgery (as you know I have a bit of a strained relationship with her). Oh well its my issues and I feel at this point i want to keep it private! Hang in there and keep drinking through it.....I have been lately and loving it!

Karyn-I don't know if I'll have the cathater or not with mine. But my co-worker had the lap and this was her advise.........they tell you to pee before you can leave. She said she only had a tiny bit. Well later she had issues and had to go back for another one. So make sure you pee and it's a full pee. Other than that she said the recovery was fine. Have fun tonight with your guests. We use to ahve big parties for New Years but now everyone has kids. We have opted to stock up on beer, I'm going to get carry out from Hooters, and we'll watch movies and play Playstation. Kind of boring but we'll have fun.

Hey everyone. Hope everyone has a good and safe New Year! Let's get rid of 2007, bring on 2008 with some BFP!!!!!!

Heidi and Karyn~ I was REALLY scared about going to sleep for my ER. The only other time I had any type of sedation was when I got my wisdom teeth out 8 years ago. When I went for my ER and laid on the table the nurse put the iv in my arm and I started feeling funny. I started to feel scared and remember thinking I was going to cry, but as soon as I felt that way for a minute, I was asleep. I woke up fine. It was much easier than I expected.

Emily ~ It was a funny movie with a lot of dry humor. I don't believe I've ever tried a sidecar, what's in it?

Karyn ~No BDing last night we just fell right asleep. I made it a point to tell DH (who BTW told me last night that he would like to be referred to as Cap'n on the boards, LOL) that we are going to BD tonight before the party we go to. Have fun tonight & I'll be thinking of you when you have your surgery. I wish I could offer some good advice for surgery but I've never had one and never been under. But I'm sure everything will go fine.

Kelly ~ I love one of your blinkies and I'm going over to blinkie thread to get one made with my name on it! Hope you don't mind.

Lauren-I love your picture too and keep forgetting to tell you. I remember when I went under the first time for the lump and I woke up feeling all funny. I think I told the nurses it was like being drunk and it was fun!

Ok, so I figured out my chart. Somehow all those symptom boxes got checked and was causing my dots to not connect. So they connect now. I do not have VIP status through fertility friend, but they're giving it to me right now cause of the special I assume. According to that I o'd on CD19. Which I thought I did on CD20 actually. I'm excited that i'm starting to at least figure out my body somewhat! I need to BD more though in order to get pg I bet. I'm also very excited that I have no spotting yet. I'm on CD26 and my longest cycle was 30 days! Maybe this pill is working

Hi to everyone and I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Years tonight! We're supposed to get 4-9 inches of snow where i'm at So we're just going out to eat and then hanging at DH and I's house.

Hi girls...HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!
Here's hoping 2008 brings us all some BFPs!!!

Emily- thanks for the tip on that movie. I like to know ahead of time when there's a possible mention of IF so I can prepare myself. Doesn't it just suck to have to do that? Have fun in Mexico with your DH and BTW...what's in a sidecar?? Sounds yummy!

Heidi and Karyn- when I had my D&C they did not use a catheter because it was such a quick thing. I know your procedures are different from mine, but..they may not use one on either of you...the only thing they made me do was empty my bladder before the procedure and then made sure I could do it again before I left. What a quick and easy thing it was...just very depressing. But once you get that IV and those drugs you'll be totally fine. The anticipation is the hardest part. Good luck to you both.

Hello to everyone else and have a safe and fun time ringing in the new year tonight! Woohoo!!

So I'm sitting here trying to hold my pee so I can do my OPK. Carlos wants to spend the night at his brother's tonight so we can get drunk - but if it's positive we have to come home and do obligatory BD.

Yesterday we went to one of his brother's house for my nephews 7th birthday.

So there were the 4 brothers and the 4 sister in laws. I never had so many sister in laws, seems really weird. Anyway got chatting with one of them that I hadn't really talked to before and of course the baby thing came up. Well turns out Carlos' younger brother also has low count. It took her 4 years to get pregnant with her first and 3 with her 2nd. No drugs, no inseiminations, he wouldn't let her. Just a lot of praying. She did chart all those years. After they did all the testing the doctors told her no chance. But she never gave up. Her kids are 15 and 10. Carlos had no idea. Oh and my other sil the super fertile one she got her tubes tied, so now I can stop avoiding her I was convinced she'd be pregnant soon.

Here are pics from yesterday

I hope everyone has a safe and fun night! We're having friends over to our house, since we have the kids and dont want to leave them. It's only about 10 people, so nothing big. We're cooking on the grill and I am planning to have lots of WINE!

Bets~ Great pictures! I hope you can enjoy your night, and have wild obligatory bd, instead of just regular obilgatory bd. Although all your bd is probably wild... Isn't it???

Hawaii~ What is your name, so we can call you that instead of hawaii? Hope you have a good new years!

Heidi~ Thanks about the pic! It is a strange feeling to be under those meds. You lose time and dont even realize it.

Val~ Thanks so much! Wow, "breathtaking..." I'm really not, but it is a good pic.

Hi everybody,
I've been layin' low the past few days, just feeling kinda down........ugghh.
AF came today, so I went and did the cd 1 b/w and the SA for dh. The only thing I'm worried about is we live a long way from the clinic, like an hour so we had to go to a park and get the sample. Talk about a nervous wreck!! That was horrible and we didn't get a very big sample if you know what I mean. Just wondering if that will affect the outcome of the test, if there isn't enough?
While in the clinic getting my b/w I ran into a girl who I did her hair for awhile and we would always talk about ttc and stuff. She had been trying a good while too. Well guess what? She's preggo!!! 13 weeks! The bad part was when she seen me in the clinic she was looking at me really big eyed like Are you pregnant?? I said No just getting some tests done.
Lovely New Year's Eve!

I hope everybody has a good night and New Years!!! I pray for many BFP's in 2008!!

Love y'all!!

p.s. Oh I forgot to change my thingies in my sig!!!
