Dani - They put a catheter in once you get an epidural, because you can't get out of bed any more. I made the mistake of asking to go to the bathroom seconds after my epidural and was told no.
Honeybee - I've always wondered if I was a chimera, but had no reason to have the testing done, and until I win the lotto, I just don't have the money to just do it myself. But it is a really cool concept. I saw a thing on Discovery Health once were a woman was accused of welfare fraud from claiming kids that weren't hers, when they actually were, but had a different DNA because she was a chimera. Oh the wonders of nature! |

Good Morning Ladies!! Happy September...YAY! This is my favorite month.....FAIR month!!!! Only 1 week until I get to have Funnel Cake and Waffle Ice Cream sandwiches....yummy!!!!!!
I saw that episode of CSI, it was fascinating! |

Mere has a good point. Another tip is ask to go to the bathroom about hour or two after it is out. I didn't feel like I had to go but there was so much when I did. It couldn't have been good.
Edit - also ask for them to take it out when you start to push or shortly after the baby crowns. They waited until the head was crowning for me. It gave me just enough extra room that his head came out on the next push.

Hey Ladies!!!! I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Labor Day weekend!!!!
Its funny, a girl I work with is due with her baby this weekend. lol. Honeybee- I believe Rac is right.....(I have to remember back to college when I took science my freshman year. lol.) Steph- I am a lefty too, and I recently heard that some scientists believe that over half of left handed people started out as a twin....and that 1in 8 pregnancies are pregnancies with twins, but the women may never know it because one of them isnt viable so early on. Isnt that crazy!...SO, if this is true, then this leads me to believe that either my sister or I started out as a twin, we are both lefties, and my mom had 5 pregnancies, so it is likely that one of us is....haha...

RAC - Thanks for the tip on the PBS documentary, I love documentaries, I'll definitely watch it when a I get a chance.
Mere - I saw that Discovery show too! I completely forgot about it until you mentioned it. Boy, do I watch a lot of TV...ahh the joy of TiVo Today, my temp has maintained and I had another +OPK, which makes it like the 5th day in a row or something. Is this normal???

Mere ~ I will definitely remember that! I would like to avoid a catheder if at all possible!
![]() Honeybee ~ Did you take your OPK at the same time everyday? Sometimes you can catch the begining of your surge, right before, and after....even so 5 days is pretty long....were the lines really dark/light or what? |
|
||||
|
Dani ~ On weekdays, the testing is around the same time because I have to get up to go to work. Weekends, it is a little bit later because I sleep in. The test line is really dark next to the control line. Today it was the same thing, although my temperature has gone up so I think this may be the end of it. But everything this cycle, the bleeding, the LH surge has dragged on for a time.
Yesterday, DH and I took my parents and a couple of girlfriends who are visiting into San Francisco for some sightseeing. We stopped at Ghiradelli Square and there was this cute shop selling the most adorable onesies. I broke my "I-will-not-buy-baby-clothes-until-I'm-pregnant" rule to buy this white onesie that has the ipod dial on it and it says "Change Me" and above that it says, "Ipood." I just couldn't resist and at the same time, I'm so superstitious about getting things before the time has come, for example, I refused to start wedding planning before I was engaged. I just hope this doesn't come back to bite me in the butt...

Honeybee- I know you just started TTC, but you can let go of any superstitions in reference to what will or won't get you pregnant. Put the onesies in a special place and think positive thoughts you will use it soon.
Just checked your chart - that is a hell of alot of OPK's. Is this your first month charting? The most OPK's I have had is 4...I tend to have a long surge, and that has been confirmed with u/s. Typically I have 2 days of OPK's. You should be testing later in the day versus FMU. I wouldn't be too concerned about the multiple OPK's just yet...if by chance you chart again next month and it happens again, then we can talk about the different reasons as to why you would get multiple OPK's. Which OPK's are you using? I know Answer tends to be on the more sensitive side.

Honeybee ~ HOLY COW! ANOTHER +OPK? That is crazy! I don't know what to think...maybe it is the type of test? do u always ovulate? I can only view one chart...is this your 1st time charting? Maybe you have a super long surge? I'll have to stalk you for a while! ha ha

Betsabeth and Dani ~ I charted on my own for a couple of months at the beginning of the year just to get a handle on it. I started using OPKs last cycle (Answer brand from WalGreens) and I think I had about 3 or 4 days of positive. BTW, it was positive again today! But my temp has gone up again, so I'm sure this has to be the tail end of it. Although this is my first cycle charting on FF, this is the 2nd cycle for us TTC. So if there is a next cycle, do you suggest testing in the afternoon or at night???

Good morning ladies!!! I am on my 3rd day of the Clomid and I feel great! I just hope it makes me O on time for once!
Honeybee- Check out this link in regards to all your +OPKs..... POAS ~ OPK FAQ. It's not normal to get +OPK for more than 2-3 days. I would call your dr about it. |

Good morning, goils! Hope everyone had a relaxing and labor free weekend!
I conducted my own little experiment at home...Dani I think it was you who suggested that FMU may be too concentrated and the Answer sticks too sensitive for testing. Well, I tested yesterday afternoon and it was negative, but this morning again it was positive. I'm going to continue with FMU for the rest of the cycle and then start testing in the afternoon for the next cycle. Stacey ~ Thanks for the link! Scanning through it (I'm getting late for work!) I see that worst case scenario is PCOS and simple explanation is "It is also possible that your body is 'gearing up' to ovulate, and you have an LH surge-- and then, for some reason (such as stress, illness, travel, or random fluke), your body fails to release an egg . . . then tries, tries again ASAP with another, or overlapping, surge. If you see a positive OPK for longer than 3 consecutive days, your egg is probably just having a little trouble getting out of the starting gate. If this happens to you occasionally, it's no big deal. If it happens a lot, talk to your doctor." I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this!!!

Good Morning Ladies! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Not much going on here.....just waiting for the big O to arrive. I am hoping that last month was just a fluke and I will not have to wait until CD 29 for O. I am on CD 13, so hopefully it will be within the next 2-5 days. I am testing around 1-ish. Last month, circumstances forced me to test around 4 in the afternoon and since I was busy tending to Dylan and stuff, I would always nearly forget to even do it. So, this time, I picked the time that he goes down for his nap, making it easier for me to remember. So far this cycle, I have been really good about controlling my obsessiveness in wanting to be PG. I am telling myself that it isn't a big deal if it happens or not and as of right now, I have been successful! I don't feel that pressure that "It has to happen RIGHT NOW or else". Although, it could be because I haven't gotten to ovulation and as soon as that happens, I could become the monster I did last month......I pray I don't
