Default fertile days

OK, i have read a lot on this site and others and I am still confused. it doesnt take much!
I have an idea when I ovulate, from CM ( i think anyway). From the time that you see EWCM is that when you ovulate or when you are about to? If its when you are about to, how long after is it?
I have spent years avoiding getting pg and now it seems that its not the easy thing I thought it was! Crazy eh?
If someone could break it down that would be great.

Ok, EWCM is the lead up, and including. After O, CM typically turns creamy. There is not telling exactly how long just by CM -- I get EWCM for 2.5 days typically.

Try using OPKs to help, and a lot of the girls on here track temps and CM, etc, on fertilityfriend.

You will see watery cm and then ewcm during your fertile time in your cycle. The best site to gather information about fertile signs is www.fertilityfriend.com You can open a free account and there is a free online charting course that you can take. If you look at our www buttons below the signature, it will show you our ff pages. It is a great and EASY way to keep up with your cycle.

Thanks Lauren, I think you are going to be a mine of information!
I have already registered with FF. Although I am not doing temps and things. Am not ready to do that yet. I have also signed up with mymonthlycycles as well but that doesnt seem as technical as FF.
Not sure how to attach my ff chart though. Do I have to have the subscription to FF?
Thanks for all the info.

If you go into your ff account and go to the "sharing" button on the left and then to "Homepage setup" you will see the link to your ff homepage at the top. You can copy that and paste it into your profile here, where it says "website." Then we will all be able to stalk your chart if you start one.

Ming - You might also want to get a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Wexler. It is a fabulous book filled with things that your doctor won't tell you about your own body. It's available on line or in book stores. I got mine from Amazon.com

Thanks Rac,
I will have a look for the book.
I have just bought some OPK's so will give them a try next month if this month isnt the month! I am hoping that because I have bought a life time supply of HPT and a few OPK's then i wont need them if you see what i mean!! like trying to play with fate, hahah. I guess I will find out next week. I have a feeling i will become addicted to POAS though!

I have already discovered that the 2ww is both a great time and an awful time;its great, i have been imagining myself pg and all that goes with that and then on the bad side you analyse every sympton wondering if its AF on the way and I have only just started doing it!!!
oh well, its a journey!

Ming- I just looked this terminology up this last week. From the Bella Online website:

Chemical pregnancy… What is it? It is a term used for an early miscarriage. It is a pregnancy that has miscarried prior to the gestational sac becoming visible on an ultra sound. Pregnancies don’t show on an ultra sound until 5 or 6 weeks. At this point it is considered a “Clinical Pregnancy”. The names only refer to if they can or cannot see the sac with an ultra sound. Many doctors out there will tell you that it wasn’t real and it’s nothing to cry or grieve over. This is not true. A chemical pregnancy is a real pregnancy that was detected only by chemicals, not an ultrasound. It’s like that saying, “Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there”. So you got a positive pregnancy test… This means you did conceive! Pregnancy hormones just DON’T float around in your body and then “poof” they are gone. Pregnancy tests today are much more sensitive to the HCG hormone and can detect these early loses. Chemical pregnancies are unfortunately very common among woman. Around 50 to 60 percent of first pregnancies end in miscarriage, even without the woman knowing it.

Many of us have had chemical pg's. You may get a + test and still start your period. I'm not sure if that is what happened to me back in May, but I think it is. I had four +'s and ended up starting my period anyway. That's one of the reasons why we are always saying to wait to test until AF is due. HTH!

thanks for that. I was really wondering what it was.
I keep reading all the things on the site and it makes me want to test, that along with batting my bbs about to see if they are sore. if they werent before they are now!! AF is due next wed, when would be the earlies to test. i think i O'd about CD18 and definitely got some BDing on that day but we missed the 2 days before that.
i was checking my symptoms from my period last month and i had awfully sore bbs ( they are not on the small side so it makes it even worse) from about 10 days before AF showed. and this time nothing. you can drive yourself absolutely mad i know.
I guess I have to wait and see.
sorry if this is confusing chatter!

Ming ~ I think most of us 'old timers' will agree...if you can, from the beginning, find the willpower to NOT TEST EARLY, it may help keep you more sane later. God willing, you will have a healthy BFP early on in your ttc journey. BUT, if it takes a while, that testing-testing-testing cycle is SO hard to break and SO emotionally damaging. It really puts you through the wringer. Anyone remember 'War Games' with Matthew Broderick? "The only way to win is not to play".

I know, I just dated myself something fierce. :P

I agree... I now wish I had not wasted all of those hpts... If I had a dollar for each test I took...
