Default New here and looking for advice...

I posted this on another TTC website but haven't had any responses...

I'll be 23 in November. My little boy turned 1 Oct. 16th. I've been TTC number 2 since I started my cycle again in June. I BF'ed my son until he was 6 months old which probably messed up my cycle.
When I conceived my son my cycle was 33 days long...my last cycle with him was jan 31 2006 and I BD' with my fiance Feb 11th and my son was due nov 7th.

Now I'm trying to figure out what time of the month I should be trying because all the calculators say I should have conceived my son after the 14th or later. I'm really confused and looking for any advice you all have. I also have started taking red clover, B6, Folic Acid and prenatal vitamins.

My cycle has been returning to a more normal number but its still not back to what it was. Like the last ones have been July 13th, Aug 15th, Sept 13th and Oct 9th.

Weight wise, I could definitly stand to lose some weight but I'm right about the same weight I was when I conceived my baby boy. With him I'd not been activly trying but I wasn't activly preventing either.

I'm sorry this is all over the place but I'm getting pretty upset over this. I really really long to hold another baby in my arms and feel the first little flutters and then the bigger kicks. I love my son but he's getting to be a big independent boy. I'm ready to make him a big brother.

Thanks for all your help.

Welcome! Feel free to just jump right into the October TTC thread to ask any further questions.

First of all, have you considered temping? That is the best way to start getting a handle on your cycles. You can also look into Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPKs) which can help you pinpoint when you're going to ovulate.

Thank you for your response and invitation. I did buy some OPKs but I'm not exactly sure when to start using them because my cycle keeps changing. And I have no clue how to temp. I've seen people talk about it but how does it work...well I get the temp drop before O and the spike after...but where do you actually put the thermometer? ...I'm sorry for my naivety and bluntness. It is just the only experience I have with temping is when I was like 14 I found my mom's Basal thermometer and chart...I really had no clue what it was about and kinda felt like I found something incredibly personal and embarassing and never mentioned it to her.

LOL! Some people do find that temping vaginally gives you flatter temps but most just temp orally so its not all that embarassing! You just have to be really consistent with taking your temperature at the same time in the morning before getting up and moving around. Most of us have accounts at fertilityfriend.com - there's a free trial period.

As for the OPKs check here: FertilityPlus: Ovulation Predictor Kit FAQ There is a table and it tells you that with varying cycles use the length of your shortest cycle in the past six months. Unfortunately you might end up using quite a few.

The best place to look when gathering info on temping, and charting your fertility signs is Ovulation Calendar and Ovulation Chart - FertilityFriend.com They have a free course to take online and you can open a free account. You can see most of our charts on our homepages (click on our names to see the homepage). Not everyone ovulates on cd 15, which is what most of those online "calculators" assume. I am usually a late ovulator. Jump in to the ttc October thread! Feel free to ask questions!

Thanks again. I signed up for a FF account and will start temping tomorrow. I just need to remember to do that before I get my son out of bed. With the opks...if a darker line shows up after the 30 minutes...should it be ignored?
