Welcome! Feel free to just jump right into the October TTC thread to ask any further questions.
First of all, have you considered temping? That is the best way to start getting a handle on your cycles. You can also look into Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPKs) which can help you pinpoint when you're going to ovulate. |

Thank you for your response and invitation. I did buy some OPKs but I'm not exactly sure when to start using them because my cycle keeps changing. And I have no clue how to temp. I've seen people talk about it but how does it work...well I get the temp drop before O and the spike after...but where do you actually put the thermometer?
...I'm sorry for my naivety and bluntness. It is just the only experience I have with temping is when I was like 14 I found my mom's Basal thermometer and chart...I really had no clue what it was about and kinda felt like I found something incredibly personal and embarassing and never mentioned it to her. |

LOL! Some people do find that temping vaginally gives you flatter temps but most just temp orally so its not all that embarassing! You just have to be really consistent with taking your temperature at the same time in the morning before getting up and moving around. Most of us have accounts at fertilityfriend.com - there's a free trial period.
As for the OPKs check here: FertilityPlus: Ovulation Predictor Kit FAQ There is a table and it tells you that with varying cycles use the length of your shortest cycle in the past six months. Unfortunately you might end up using quite a few. |

The best place to look when gathering info on temping, and charting your fertility signs is Ovulation Calendar and Ovulation Chart - FertilityFriend.com They have a free course to take online and you can open a free account. You can see most of our charts on our homepages (click on our names to see the homepage). Not everyone ovulates on cd 15, which is what most of those online "calculators" assume. I am usually a late ovulator. Jump in to the ttc October thread! Feel free to ask questions!

Thanks again. I signed up for a FF account and will start temping tomorrow. I just need to remember to do that before I get my son out of bed. With the opks...if a darker line shows up after the 30 minutes...should it be ignored?
