Deanna - I hope your doctor calls back pronto! The cups go in right after - if you put them in before it would keep the swimmers out
Mary - IUI is intrauterine insemination and is only done by an RE. You can have CM throughout your cycle but it changes as your hormones fluctuate. Right before you O alot of people will get what they call egg-white CM (EWCM) which is the most fertile kind. And yes its probably a good plan for you to start using the preseed around CD9 or 10 since you do have shorter cycles and the point is to have the sperm inside ready and waiting for the egg to pop out. I told DH I wanted to do clomid and he immediately thought we would end up with sextuplets... idiot!!! Last edited by Irene : 05-08-2008 at 10:32 AM. |

Mary - It has taken my dh almost three years to be able to say the word uterus. Yes, it takes some of them that long to catch on.
The CM usually thins and becomes watery or like eggwhites shortly before you O (yes, that is when you're most fertile). Once you O, the cm tends to dry up. IUI is intra uterine insemination. OH - and your temps look nice and even. I've been checking Claire - No, not yet. It will be next week....maybe Tuesday?? It's all kind of speculation since I don't know what the clomid did to my body! I start opks tomorrow and I have been temping.... Deanna - YAY to vacation! Sounds fantastic! I would love to go to Mexico or the Carribean some time. Dh was in the Bahamas for his first honeymoon and to Hawaii... maybe some day I'll get to go. He wants to go to Alaska next year. |

Claire - I'll do my opks like usual and when I get my positive, I'll have my b/w and u/s. Now, the question is, will my O be delayed from the clomid and how many follies will I have??
Temagami is is northern Ontario. Dh has been going there since he was about 2. I've been there several times in the past 6 years. It's a beautiful place. Here's a link to where we're staying. About Ojibway of Keewaydin We can't take the dogs, so I set up a vacation for them with a dog sitter. She's a technician at my vet's office, so I know they'll be well cared for - plus.... get this.... they will sleep in her bed with her and her own three dogs!!! |

Oh, wow. That place is beautiful! If ya'll like it there, I'm sure Alaska will be just as nice. I've never been to Alaska, but I had a friend who was a fishing guide in Denali Park and my folks went to Kodiak Island. Pic looked beautifula anyhow. DH grew up in Anchorage, so I made him promise to take me there, someday. What a wonderfull puppy-sitter you have! I need to find me one of those, then maybe I can go on vacation.
So, I guess your RE's office must be able to do things on the fly then? I have a hard time imagining any Dr's office being able to accomodate things like that so quickly. I didn't realize the clomid could delay O. I still don't really understand clomid at all, I guess. |

Well, with a RE, all they do is deal with things like this, so they're equipped for spur of the moment, kwim?? Clomid basically tells the hypothalamus that there's not enough estrogen in the system. The hypothalamus then tells the pituitary gland to pump up its hormone production (TSH, FSH and Prolactin). The FSH that is produced stimulates the follicles, which in turn tells the ovaries to produce estrogen (and later the corpus leutum to produce progesterone) and LH. That is why there's a higher chance of multiples when you take Clomid becaue several follies can develope with mature eggs. The chemical reaction in each person is different, though. I *should* O 5-9 days after my last pill, so they say. We'll see what happens.
Temagami really is a beautiful place. I have pictures at home that I can post for you. If you click on the accomodations link, you'll see a picture of a family inside of a cabin with a fireplace. That is the cabin that we will stay in this year. Last edited by rac : 05-08-2008 at 11:36 AM. |

Claire- Thank you for your support! I am so proud of you for not picking up a cigarette. I do agree with the lingerie thing. I am fat but I like the occasional suprise on DH's face when I wear a baby doll! Oh, I am glad that your DH is trying really HARD
Irene- I really am glad that you joined us in our fight to kick some fat butt! I hope that you get to your short term goal quickly. Deanna- I would call that Dr office every hour if I were you. Today is 1 week of dieting and tom. is 1 week of exercise. I am proud of myself for not cheating. Thank you for the support. Rebecca- I hope that you this is your time on the next IUI! I am still praying for you to be a mom. Mary- Please don't stop chatting so much. I love seeing people on here and chatting all day. I have no life other than this site. I am on here all day. Some days are really quiet and others are busy like today. Mel- What the heck happend, have you talked to this new school? I hope that you get a new school that is better and that appreciates you! Ashley- I think it was you, but I watch movies during the day when nobody is home. I am a stay at home mommy so that's what I do so I don't go crazy. I also scrapbook, exercise, clean, cook, read, INTERNET! I am going shopping to start my own candle business soon. I think we might try the IC too. We may start TTC again bc I test my blood sugar everday and it is always low which would mean I am hypglycemic and not a diabetic. I think we are going to get a second opinion. My Grandma is a R.N. and can't believe that they didn't give me any information on what it means to have diabetes or even what type. That they aren't monitoring me more freqently. So, I think we are back in the TTC game. I am still going to diet and exercise bc it was enough of a scare. I will be very careful! I know how all of you worry. Anyway this is getting way too long! Lindy - What was the specific hemoglobin test that they did and what was the result?? I remember looking into it not long ago for someone else, but I don't remember the specifics of it. I think if your doctor's office is telling you that you're diabetic, then they really should do a glucose test and Yes, I'm surprised too that they didn't give you any other information. You're doing great, though with your meal and exercise plan, though! You'll be a skinny minnie in NO time!
Oh yes, Claire... YAY to not having a smoke. I know how hard it is (trust me, I know). |

No word from my stupid dr's office yet!!! They probably get sick of me, but come on how hard is it? Just give me clomid and my b/w results and send me on my way. I don't even need to hear what the dr says besides if she wants me on something else. Which, if my prolactin is still up she might. I'll look up my results anyways and post them on here lol

Lindy~ I can't believe they didn't give you more info! Certainly get a 2nd opinion! It may mean more b/w-OUCH, I'm a big wimp, there. LOL. oooo, candles! I made candles for xmas one year. lots of fun.
Rac- Thanks! I know you know Deanna- Time to go camp out in the waiting room!!!! I hate it when you can't get answers. Maybe you should go visit the RE. Not sure what your financial/insurance status is, though. I only havn't gone bc I'm sure my cruddy hmo won't pay for it. Hmmm, that reminds me-time to get after the office that still has DH's S/A results. DH called them yesterday and they said the guy that did the test wasn't there. What, like he's the only one who can run the fax machine!?!?!?! I'm just afraid if I call, they'll pull the HIPPA stuff and not let me talk to them since it's DH's records. |

Rebecca- They ran a hemoglboin A1c which was 6% which puts it at the beg. of diabetes. Other than that they didn't tell me anything except to check my levels once a day. Which have all been low. I don't know, I just don't get it. It is so frustrating.
Claire- I am going to talk to my Grandma this weekend and get her opinion on what I should do since she is a RN. Oh, and get your behind in gear for the S/A results. I think the HIPPA laws are good, but not when you are a spouse and the other is too busy or can't seem to get any answers. Sometimes I think we have to be a beotch in order to get things accomplished. Deanna- I agree with Claire, go park it in the waiting room and demand results. Good luck. |

Rebecca ~ That link was beautiful! If you need to know anything about Alaska, you can ask here. I went on my first cruise 5 years ago to Alaska and afterwards we stayed an extra 3 days around Anchorage and day trip to Talkeetna, and we hired a small engine airplane to take us up to Denali.
I finally got appreciated for Teacher Appreciation week! One of the English teachers gave her class an assignment to write a letter of appreciation to a teacher of their choice. I got two letters today. So nice! I spoke with the office manager regarding an interview. They are not to flexible with their interview times. I may have to cancel appointments to get an interview in. erg. Apparently, they have interviews lined up this week and next, I wonder if they are all for the position I want ... |

Mel- Whatever it takes to get an interview, right? At least you got some appreciation! that's nice. Today is I think the first time I've really scrutinized your chart. What has your Dr. Said about all that spotting, again? I forget.
Lindy-I called the RE;s office where they did the S/A. Can you BELIEVE there is only ONE friggin person in there who can get the results?!?!? The receptionist confirmed that "Wade" is the only one who can help me and he is out because he broke some bone |
|

|
Mel- Good luck! I am glad you have students that appreciate you!
Claire- Wahoooooooo for getting something. I think that is ridiculous about only one person has access. They should have someone else be able to get it to you in case the one freakin person does have a problem like a broken bone. What a crazy place. I hope they give you something. Well, I am really tired from taking DD outside to learn to ride a bike without training wheels. It is really hot outside and our pool isn't open yet and my cousin went back to work today. I think I am going to take a nap now. TTYL |
