Thanks, Rac! I didn't really agree with that CL, either. It just seemed like my normal post O temps were in the 98's, I guess I could do that overlay thing.

So, I really need someone to talk me down here....I'm sitting here at my desk sobbing and all I think is "not again, not again, not again." I just called my NP office. See, I had cervical precancer a couple of years ago that resulted in a cone biopsy and paps ever 3 months. Well, the last pap I had I was told that I could move to every 6 months. So I was sitting here thinking "wow, with the lap and everything, I completely spaced making sure that I had that next pap scheduled." So, I called in and asked when my last pap was...after the stupid new girl looked for a while, she finally said, "your last one was in Dec 07 and it was ABNORMAL you should have come back" God that b**ch was rude, too. Like it was my fault that I didn't come back in like I was some kind of moron.

I could have SWORN that my NP called me after every pap. After all I went through all of that....but Now I don't remember if I heard from her or not on my last pap. Oh, God! Oh please let this be somekind of mistake. If that cancer comes back....oh my god, I mean that's it. no more TTC. I can't breath. I can't call DH, he has a service change today (ie, REALLY busy)

So, the NP is supposed to call me back. I told that stupid little receptionist, have the NP call me please......And she acted like I should just wait until the 17th- which is the next available pap appt. Oh my god, I'm totally losing it here.

Claire - obviously with your history you'll be worried about an abnormal pap but many times they do turn out to be nothing. Alot of things can result in abnormals - like having sex the night before. I've had to have 2 colposcopies and both came back fine. I can't believe your doctor didn't call you about it though... I highly doubt that it would have slipped your mind if she did!!! Hopefully when your NP calls back you can get in to see her before the 17th - what a biatch first telling you that you should've come back then trying to push you off for 2+weeks!!!

Claire - Irene's right - so many things can cause a pap to be abnormal and IF it is dysplasia, often it resolves itself. You could very well not have anything to worry about. If the cells are still abnormal, they will take care of it. Cervical cancer is one of the easiest to detect in the very early stages and easy to correct. It is so extremely common, too. Plus, this is only the 'pre-cancerous' stage. It's not like she's telling you that you have full blown cervical cancer. It'll be okay.

Thanks, girls. I know you are right. It's just that usually doesn't happen for me. I've just never been lucky enough for things to just resolve themselves-LOL. And my colposcopy and punch biopsy was the worst thing I had ever endured.

When my Doc told me to wait one year after the cone, then pop out my kid(s) within 2 years....well, that was the plan. He said there was nothing keeping it from coming back and he acted like he expected it to come back....just not this soon. And then the plan was if the dysplasia came back, I'd just get rid of the whole darn organ. I'm going to be crushed if I have to deal with this again, instead of TTC. No, 'crushed' isnt' right. What's beyond crushed? Liquified?

And I keep thinking about an old highschool friend who told me they had to abort her PG b/c of abnormal pap....that turned out to be fine, no cancer stuff.

Claire - Stop. Breathe. Okay...now one day at a time. I don't see why they would need to take the whole cervix out anyway. There are other options besides the cone biopsy. There's cryosurgery (freezing), leep (loop electrical excision P.....) - options. Besides, you don't even know what is going on yet.

I can't understand why a pregnancy would have to be terminated because of abnormal cell growth... that doesn't make sense to me.

Claire - I've never heard of such a thing! I just looked up abnormal paps and pregnancy and here's what it says on the American Pregnancy Association website:
It is safe to have a Pap smear during pregnancy. If your Pap smear results are abnormal, a colposcopy could be performed during your pregnancy. However, further treatment will probably be delayed until after your baby is born. Frequently, the birth of your baby will wash away any abnormal cervical cells. Having an abnormal Pap smear does not pose a risk to your baby.

Why would they abort based on that? Also I'm surprised that your doctor seemed to have such a negative viewpoint. From everything I've read, what Rebecca says is true that its very easy to correct when its caught in the early stages. Did he give you any kind of statistics on the rate of recurrence?

Rebecca ~ I don't know why either, but that happened to my aunt. She had to have a late stage abortion because the doctor found precancerous cells which eventually turned out to be nothing.

Claire ~ One of my dear childhood friends was in a similar situation as you but she is completely fine now. Don't worry, it will be fine *hugs*

I did see SATC yesterday, I don't want to give anything away but I loved it but was disappointed in some aspects of it. I was a bit annoyed that someone sitting next to us was on their cell phone! This is why I hate going to movies opening weekend!

I have to go change my chart, I got a +OPK this morning, I jumped in the bed to show Cap'n so he knows we gotta BD tonight. I'm going to zip my lip, do some cleaning, so no spats that could hinder BDing. He said that he tried get me going last night but I was out! I told him we are going to bed early tonight, no ifs ands or buts!

OMG! Thanks so much Rac and Irene. You two are dolls, I really want to send you flowers for putting up with me.

So, I just got off the phone with NP. I can't decide if I should be relieved or furious. The NP was a bit short with me and clearly had NO IDEA why I was calling her. So I told her, your new girl told me my pap in DECEMBER was abnormal!! How could that be? And she looked in my chart and says: No, no, it was normal, and I faxed a copy to your gyno....WHO told you it was abnormal? I told her, and she put me on hold. Then the receptionist pics up the phone all confused about scheduling me for an appt......which we had done the LAST time we talked. So she tells me "well, your already scheduled, I don't know why she wanted me to do it again" And I told her: "I'm confused. You told me my pap was abnormal and NP said it was fine." She says: "oh, I screwed up, I was looking at something else on the computer, I messed up I shouldn't have said that"
So I told her: "HOW COULD YOU 'SCREW THAT UP'?!?!? I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW I'VE BEEN HISTERICAL AND DEVASTATED SINCE I TALKED TO YOU. YOU NEED TO KNOW IN THE FUTURE, THAT IF YOU CAN'T EVEN READ, DON'T SAY ANYTHING. THIS ISN'T THE SORT OF THING YOU CAN JUST SAY OOPS ABOUT!!!! And she didn't even say sorry. oooooo, I can't wait to see this little prepubescent moron in person in a couple of weeks.

So, sorry for the false alarm. Boy, do I feel dumb. I'm so so sorry!

Rac- Oh by "organ" I meant uterus, not just the cervix. b/c of the endo, adeno, and dysplasia, I just figure if it acts up again after I give birth, the whole thing is gone. I have no idea about my friends PG except the BFP was an "oops" anyhow. Maybe she aided that decision a bit but didn't admit it.

Irene- Thank you so much for that info. No the doc didn't give me any info on recurrence. I guess in my case, something about the early tests made him think that a cone biopsy would have been better to do and it ended up being a good thing b/c the LEEP wouldn't have gotten it all out, most likely. And there were a few cells that were pretty advanced. I wasn't quite as proactive about my medical treatment then, so I just took all the docs word on everything.

Mel- Thanks: So, SATC movie: Is it something I could follow if I've never seen an episode of the TV show? Everyone's talking about it so much.....I'm a sucker for peer pressure. And VERY GOOD for playing super nice with capn for BD tonight! LOL! The things we'll do, huh?

Claire - I'm glad it was a false alarm! I hope that receptionist gets a good tongue lashing by your NP!!! Good thing you had your NP call back instead of just waiting for the appointment on the 17th... you would have had 2 wks of unnecessary wigging.

Mel - Yay for a positive OPK - hope all goes well with your plan to BD tonight!

I don't have much time bc Mom's still here, but we were shopping and I picked up most of the supplies to make our bracelets. If you wanna start pm'ing me requests for colors and sizes in inches and if you want any specifics such as a flower or shapes to add a little extra pzazz... i'll do my best! Oh and i'll need addresses to send them. It'll prob take me a little while to get all the requests filled, but I'm excited to have something to do, and I just wanna make sure I have all the colors and extras I need. I'll post pics of diff ones that I make as I make them to give ideas if you're just as clueless as I was. Feel free to ask ??'s, or give me any ideas.

Default Hi

Oh my Claire - What a mess! I'm proud of you for giving her an ear full, I mean who does that? In a dr office? Your were reading what!!! Ah, just makes me mad thinking about it.

Mel - I should take pointers from you. I had too much inlaw family time this weekend, so my filter has been on, now that it's all over I tend to let it all out on DH, poor guy. I will remember to be on my best behavior for some BDing tonight. And Yay! on the +!

Ok talk to ya later

Claire ~ Phew! I'm glad that it was a misunderstanding in the end and that chic is a moron, erg. In the beginning of the movie, they give a quick background of the women, just pay extra special close attention to that part and the rest is easy to follow I don't know if you are a crier like me but I brought kleenix, JIC, and I used it. I just get so emotionally invested in these characters. I was a mess at the series finale of Friends and Six Feet Under.

Hello everyone! My name is Carey and I am new here. I hope I am not butting in on a conversation!

I am 28, married, and live in Huntsville, AL with my wonderful loving husband Blake. I weigh a little over 300 and am diabetic, but my husband and I really don't want to wait to have a baby. We are considering starting trying to conceive.

I was hoping someone on this board might have had a similar experience or heard about it and might have some advice?

Thanks!

Carey - You're welcome to join in on any conversation! We're like a little family here. We share everything with each other, so you should feel comfortable. I posted a reply to your question in the other thread, but since you've lost some weight and have your sugar under control, you're on the right track. Do you have regular cycles??

Aprox. regular. About the 16th of every month, although it has been known to go as long as 40 days sometimes. I am gonna start a chart for myself and start the temperature thing. I am going to get my prenatal vitamins from the store tonite, and start trying to get really healthy... as you can see, I am just starting out!

I'm so excited!!! *is about to burst*

(how does that temperature thing work... I will have to look it up I think)
