I agree with Laura, I ALWAYS held out for FMU but then again I'm not a POAS pusher. GL with your choice stormy and I hope a BFP is what you get!

I went ahead and tested again tonight and i got a BFN .....so i dont know what is wrong with me!....I wish I would have just had my period and been able to try again this month, rather than not having my period, and get a BFN and not know why i didnt have my period......I know that things will work out the way they are supposed to...and i know that I will get pregnant when the time is right...but since i am not pregnant, i wish i would just have my period already. this has never happenend to me before......

Stormy - I hate to be the bearer of bad thoughts, but have you ever been checked for PCOS? I am just bringing it up because I am looking at your chart and it reminds me a lot of my old charts.

Here are a few of mine, if you want to see.

I am so sorry that this is happening to you. I remember feeling the exact same way, that since I had so many BFNs, that AF just needed to start already so I could move on. **hugs**

Also check out Cristina's (Ambrosia) old charts. She too is a PCOS gal and had those never ending cycles.

Mere - I remember those charts my heart used to just break for you!

Storrmy - I know it's frustrating and it feels like it's so much out of your control. But this is the beginning of taking charge of your fertility. The charting was the first step. You must call your dr as soon as you can. Let him know you are TTC that you are charting (some drs know what that is) and that you need ...I believe it's called Prometerium? and that will get AF started and you can get on to the new cycle.

Stormy, I am sorry to hear that you had a BFN.....if it's any consolation...I got one of those too this morning Hopefully your doctor will give you meds to bring on AF. I had one month last year that I was extremely late and my doctor told me that they wouldn't give me the meds unless I went 4 months without AF. Maybe it's different when you are trying to conceive....I sure hope so....I too want to start on the next month. I went out and bought my bottle of EPO and OPK's and I am going to try the Instead cups this month too. Wish me luck! And GOOD LUCK to those who are also TTC this month......Let's hope for many BFP's!!!!!

Thanks for all the sweet notes ladies! I really appreciate it!!! I know that a lot of you know how i am feeling!!!
Val-I am sorry you got a BFN too....
I talked to my mom and she said that if i didnt get my period this month, then i need to go to the doctor (she is a nurse) so i am going to wait it out....it sucks. but i am going to wait....she said that since i am healthy and have never had any other female problems and all my exams are totally normal, that i should just wait a couple more weeks....i will have to think about it this weekend and talk to DH and make a choice....
What is PCOS exactly? I have read some about it.... Is it heriditary? No one in my family has it....and i havent ever had trouble with AF before.....they are always like clockwork, and i have no major cramps, and the bleeding is never too heavy, its usually pretty normal....
And when my new cycle starts, i am going to take my temp at the same time everyday, as opposed to what i was doing and taking it at total different times....but this is my first month of charting (or month and a half!!! AGH! haha) when i finally do have my period, i am going to temp at the same time every day!....though, now i am going to look into this....
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! DH and I are going to visit his grandparents today and tomorrow!....

Stormy - I strongly disagree. I've never been in your shoes. The longest cycle I had was 28 and I was freaked out by just being 2 days late and as much as I hate doctors I was ready to ring him up and get the next cycle going.

As far as being healthy - I'm right there with you, I went to by OB/gyn appts religously and everything worked properly and even during TTC everything has continued to be normal. I know your mom is a nurse and you respect her opinion, but even my OB/GYN was clueless about TTC issues. I've seen a lot of women on here strugle with the strangest "things" that they would have never discovered until they were TTC. Somen women do have an annovulatory cycle once or twice a year. But many women don't. So whether it's normal or not is up for debate.

Maybe Christina & Mere can give you more of their input since they've been through it & they ended up with very positive results . The only other person I remember who had consistently long cycles was Kia and she's not around anymore. I know that Lisa had PCOS (not saying you do) but can't remember if she had long cycles too before getting pregnant.

I'll get off my soapbox... I would just hate to see you spend a few more weeks in limbo...

Stormy - PCOS is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It's caused by an inbalance of hormones that basically prevent you from O'ing. It is possible to O with PCOS, but the year I was off BCP, I only O'ed once on my own. The other time was with clomid's help. I have read that it's hereditary, but I am the only person in my family with it, so I think it doesn't necessarily have to be. I know I am going to be watching my daughter closely. She's probably going to think I am nuts.

This is from BabyCenter. I have always found their information to be reliable.

As far as fertility problems go, PCOS is one of the easiest to work with. I was on metforman and clomid, which is a typical treatment, and I responded to my third round. I was also on estrogen and progesterone, but those were due to hormone deficiency that was not necessarily due to the PCOS.

I truly hope you are just having one wacky cycle, but if it is PCOS, going to the Dr early is the best thing you can do.

Have a great trip and I'll be checking in with ya to see what you decide to do!

I've got PCOS and was on metformin only. Which, I'm not sure if I should attribute the BFP to the met because it was my first month.

Trust me, PCOS is NOT as horrible as it may seem

OK! SOOO....i started spotting today...i am hoping that tomorrow it will be a full blown period...i have my normal mild AF cramps today...so maybe it is a good sign that AF will actually start on her own!!!!!...so then i can get to my ovulation time!! haha....

Betsy- Thanks! I totally see what you mean.....i guess i take my moms opinion because she worked in a womens clinic for a long time and dealt with women who were ttc, and pregnant and all that jazz...and she has 5 kids on her own! (crazy woman, haha)...but i do see what you mean....i could be healthy and have problems that i dont know about....you are definately right....there is no way for her to know what is going on inside me...
So, i do have a question....could starting a new job and physically working harder than i normally would do cause my period to be late? because after talking with DH, he made me see how stressed out i have been for the last month...i have been having problems with a friend, and my new job is a change, and i have been obsessing about my body...and i recently put on some weight (that i am now losing)....so what do you think??
So, if my period doesnt start by tomorrow, i will call my doctor....

Mere- thanks for the info about PCOS...i dont have any of the other symptoms of it, (other than this wacky cycle this month).... I will definately ask my doctor about it when i get into see her.....

Rissa-thanks! Its good to know that if it is a problem in the future, or i know anyone with it, that it isnt as horrible as it seems...because it does seem really really bad!

You ladies really are awesome!!!

Stormy- CONGRATS!!! on the spotting. I know that's a weird statement when TTC. That just puts you one step closer. And hun, PCOS isn't bad. There are many treatments. I originally had surgery for it. It's not that bad. You've just got to come to terms and learn to live with it.

Stormy-I hope this is the start of AF so you can move onto a new cycle. I agree with Betsy.....I had a 35 day cycle once and was ready to also call the OB to bring on AF. As for the stress........I have ready many books about TTC and the only thing I find is that stress can effect your ovulation. Once you ovulate your body will start to work through the normal 2ww. So my opinion is that it's a myth about stress causing AF to be late. It can throw off O.

AF sucks Val but at least you're not stuck in the 2ww anymore and can get moving on your next cycle!

If I'm right about Oing last weekend during the wedding I was in AF should rear her ugly head next weekend and then I can get started again too. We've taken a step backwards sort of. Mike has "convinced" me that the best approach to my irregular cycles is to BD every other day for the entire month since pinpointing my O has been elusive so far. Now I'm just waiting for him to realize how difficult that will be and to go back to my method haha! I'm still going to use the OPKs since I'm sure he'll be worn out in a couple of weeks.
