I've used the over the counter UTI test before. The only thing I can say about them is they are really difficult to read correctly. I was convinced the test was telling me I had a UTI, but the doctor's office told me no. It requires you to look at shades of a color, which can be difficult to do.

I think there is a new test out though that does test for other kinds of infections, not just UTIs.

I don't know if its because I'm using the cheapie OPK tests from ebay but I'm really confused now. On Friday and Saturday I had no line at all... then on Sunday I had a line half as dark and Monday was darker than Sunday but still not as dark as the control. So I was hoping that I was having a fade in pattern and that today I would have a clear positive. Well now today it was half as dark again. I've been testing at around 2:30 everyday so I don't know how I could have missed it. Has anyone else had similar issues?

Irene ~ Hopefully you didn't miss it. Remember, the tests are just negative or positive....not how negative or how positive. I have had months like that where I thought I for sure missed it and kept testing and all of a sudden test line was way darker than control. Your body can get all geared up to O, and then change it's "mind" and wait a few days. Actually, my bfp month did that.... If you did miss it maybe you should start testing twice a day. Have you been bd'ing? I assume so, I will stalk your chart to see! Good luck to you!

Thanks Kayla - I guess its just weird for me to think that the tests are clearcut negative or positive when for awhile I have no 2nd line at all and then I start getting half-dark lines. Last month when I started using them I got a half-dark result and concluded it was negative but then I didn't get a chance to test the next 2 days and after that I was getting no line at all again... and 2 wks later AF showed up so I was pretty sure that I was getting a fade in pattern this time. I don't know now though... hopefully my body didn't change its mind and not O since we have been BDing since Sunday when I got the half dark line.

SO I finally got O confirmed...i had 3 high temps in a row, with EW and watery CM...so i am happy...lol...we BDed 2 days before O and the day of O and the day after O (cause i didnt know for sure if i had Oed)...so hopefully that was enough.....
