Default HSG Success Stories

Hey everyone. Just looking for any success stories you or someone you may know have had! I have been ttc for 7 months now and no luck. I had an HSG test done yesterday and my tubes were partially blocked so they flushed them out and hoping now the 'gates are open'! Anyone have any success stories they can share about their experiences and ended up pregnant soon after?

Thanks!

I am going for hsg on thursday, the Dr. told me he has had several patients that conceived the month of the test. I am a little nervous about the test... I hope we are both hsg success stories this month!

Good luck with your test this Thursday Mll. How long has it been that you have been trying to conceive? I want to look into getting this test if I do not conceive in the next two months.

DH and I have been trying for 8 months. This month I am getting a full workup by a specialist, they took baseline bloods on cd 4, hsg on cd 7 on thurs, on nov 11 I have a post coital (sp?) exam-cd 14 and DH is getting a sperm analysis. So by the end of this cycle I should get a lot of info.

mll - I have been ttc for 7 months and we have had blood work and semen anaylsis done a few weeks ago, but never heard back our results which I guess is good news. We have a follow up with my doc about it on the 15th of this month. I just had an hsg test done and the doctor said the same thing to me about many women getting pregnant that same cycle. Thats why they do it so close to ovulation. I have also read that most women get pregnant within 3 months of the procedure. SO I hope we both fall into that category.

I think my doc was waiting for the results of everything before he did a post coital..but I am thinking if things dont work this month..that is our next step.

Good luck with everything and keep my posted on your progress! I would love to hear. We talk alot on a thread called November (we create a new one each month) and you are certainly welcome to join us. Everyone is so supportive!!!

Can someone explain HSG? I don't know much about it just that it means there is a blockage in the fallopian tubes.

I had my hsg yesterday, the Dr said my left side tube is normal but on the right side it is distended because of abdominal surgery I had in the past. He sadi that if I ovulate from the left side I should be able to get pregnant normally but if I ovulate from the right side it would be a slim chance - he also said there is no way to know which side you ovulate from so it would just be a matter of trying... that was my experience.

Hey girl. well I am glad to hear though that everything is really ok..right? Even though you cant help or control which side you ovulate on..you still have good chances all together! At least you know they are there and there is nothing blocking both of them. It may just take time and maybe now after hving the HSG..it straightened them out a bit and made it easier for the egg to travel down! Did it hurt you?

Default HSG on the 19th

I had a HSG on the 19th of Oct. I am due today for my AF. I am so worried. I am new to this site and actually am not sure if a posting this correctly. I am usually on the preg. forum but one of the ladies from their invited me to this site. This site looks great and i am excited to be apart of it.
I am so nervous that i am going to get the monthly curse today. I am doing everything in my power to avoid thinking about it. Yet everytime i go to the rest room, i think i got it.

Welcome Kim. If you go to http://www.fertilityfriend.com you can sign up for a free account and chart your signs online. I believe when I first signed up, you get a VIP membership for free for 30 days. Then it goes to a regular membership and you have to purchase if you want to keep it VIP. I pay for the VIP. I paid $16.00 for three months. I like it. You can also post with us in the November thread. Hope AF stays away!

With my daughter I had an HSG done on a Thursday and we BD'd on a Saturday...I was so clean I could feel my egg move. I called my doctor freaking out! Sure enough, I missed my period and was prego!

I had another HSG done a month ago...and we are hoping to get prego this month!

So did the HSG hurt you? It didn't hurt me, but I know a couple of people that it did hurt. I was just wondering.

Yes it bothered me..and I have a pretty high tolenrance of pain! The doctor said that there must have been a partial blockage since it took some pressure for the dye to go through. Thats why she said it probably cramped so bad. Thats the only part that hurt. It was like a bad period cramp that wouldn;t stop.

Glad yours was not painful. Did your first one bother you at all when you did conceive?
