I agree that we have come a long way in our cultural acceptance, but it is still here everywhere you look around. Dh and I just watched the movie "Crash", which was not at all what we thought it was going to be about. It was a great movie, and if you watch it a second time you catch how a lot of things are connected. Almost the entire movie is centered around racism and how it is still seperating America today, no matter how integrated we try to say we are. I totally recommend this movie. There are a lot of great actors who are in it and it shows that they think that our ideas about ethnicity and racism need to change. Some of the actors are Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Jennifer Esposito, Brenden Fraser, Ludacris, Ryan Phillipe, and lots of cameos. It didn't do great at the box office, and I think the racial basis of it is why. People are afraid to think differently than they do. And if we are all honest, it doesn't matter how we think we act, we all have some form of racism going on embedded deep in our minds. I hate it, but we have to acknowlege it for it to change. I agree Kia, you can jump on your soap box any time you want to.
