Teaching her Dora's house color is great! Or maybe the color of Dora's backpack or hair. I think with Lela one day she will say "Mommy I want a red shirt" or something crazy and you will never know when she learned them all. She is really smart so you will just be suprised someday.
Also, I feel your pain on how hard it is not to compare. I still do it almost daily but I am having an easier time lately when I stop to think about how differant they truely are.
