Vicki ~ I have quit once before -- some people need to go cold turkey or use patches, you are right, I need to gradually step down. It's a physical habit as well as a chemical one. I smoked for about 4-5 years and quit when I was 21, and didn't smoke for 6 years. Then, during a time under massive duress in my life, I picked it back up again, but not very heavily, wound it back down after about a year and a half to maybe one a day, then came back from Alaska and a week later, DH called me up. And, well, drama ensued. He smokes pretty much, and I've messed around with quitting over the past few years, during the times I was pg, was winding down again last January, and then again this January, and then my life drama would slap me in the head and -- I just didn't care to put in the effort to quit.

SO, I've really only completely quit once before; other times, I've been working on it and decided to uh, quit quitting? LOL! I know when I quit, I quit. I don't smoke socially or stuff like that, or have one here or there, or have constant battles with it. It took about a year for all the cravings to go away the first time, and they'd come mostly when I was out partying. Since I don't do that so much that won't be an issue.

It's too expensive, and I'm just getting tired of it anyway. I've already switched to lights a few months ago. Now I'll start cutting it out during certain activities, like driving and stuff like that when it's very habitual, then REALLY wind it down in a few weeks, like one in the morning, one during the day, one in the evening, one before bed. Then at the very end, I'll have it down to probably one in the morning and one at night -- that part is sketchy. Not sure if I'll move to one only at night...I've changed my morning routine a LOT -- like I have one now. Never did before. SO, anyway, yeah, I'm tired of it. I'm tired of spending the cash. I'm tired of DH smoking too (he keeps saying he wants to quit by his birthday, and if I quit, that will give incentive for him to smoke outside, not smoke in the car, etc, and help him start to wind down.

Apparently, this is going to be another chapter in the book. LMAO! Boy, I really can get going, eh?
