Irene ~ You made me laugh, thank you! Ashley, thank you too. The custodian removed the hanging piece of metal, I guess they figure as long as the door closes and locks, it's still okay. Seniors haven't pulled their prank yet and if they do what they did last year, I'll need a new door. Last year, they filled my lock with some sort of glue or putty. The custodian fixed it to the point where I can unlock it with my key but it jams which is especially fun when I have my arms full with heavy stuff.
