Tomato Sauce
2 large cans crushed tomatoes (32 oz cans)
3 med. cans plain tomato sauce (16 oz cans)
3 small cans tomato paste (8 oz cans)
1 onion
4 garlic cloves minced
1 tablespoon oil
2 tablespoon of each oregano, basil, parsley, Italian seasoning
2 teaspoons pepper
any additional COOKED meat you would like to add. (meatballs, sausage, left over meat,chicken) This adds a lot to the taste of the meat.
In a skillet, saute chopped onion and garlic in oil. Cook till onions are softened. Add the tomatoe products to the crock pot, then all the seasonings and the onions/garlic. Mix well. Then add in any of the cooked meats.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours. This recipe freezes well. There will be extra to be used in anything you need sauce for. If you want it even thicker add a can of tomato paste in place of one of the tomato sauces.
