Sweetpea- Before I begin, I'll start with that I have little to no respect for doctors as I went through 5 of them fighting for what I wanted. I did have a pre-conception exam and that's actually where I discovered my thyroid issue before even starting to TTC. I'm curious to know what your thyroid levels are, as regular doctors have a different perception of what normal is compared to an RE. And lastly you can ask around on different parts of the board but 7 months is a LOOOOOOOOONG time to be waiting for your cycle to regulate. I think your Drs is being too laid back on this. Each time I've gotten off the pill I ovulated the next cycle - that doesn't happen to everyone, but 7 months seems a bit long.
It's obviously up to you and what you are comfortable with. You just started TTC so I can see why you wouldn't want to stress just yet. But there is nothing wrong with taking control of your fertility and monitoring your hormones. And that's advise I give women whether they are TTC or not.
