Sarah- I am so sorry about the hard time you were given. I have heard stories about the high pressure the nurses give at birth. I was prepared to call an attorney if I had to from the hospital but all was fine for me. My chiro & his wife (who is also a chiro and against vaccines) were both forced into the eye drops & Vit K so don't feel so bad. It's nuts though. Like Rebecca said they are YOUR babies not theirs.

The nurses won't sign something saying they will take full responsibility if something was to happen to your babies so they should get NO say in the matter!! I don't understand why they care so much. It makes no sense about c-section babies needing eye drops either. Or any baby needing a Hep B shot since a baby could not have it or get it without sex or IV drug use. I agree these nurses are NOT educated on vaccines at all.

Glad you stuck your ground on Hep B. You are 100% correct about premiees and vaccines. Like Jenny Mc Carthy was saying on Oprah how can these vaccines be "one size fits all"

As far as them saying your surgery would be delayed if you didn't want the Vit K?? What a bunch of crap. Wow they really were making things difficult for you. I'm so sorry about the added stress they gave you just before something so emotional & scary for you as it was. My pedi even said the Vit K won't work for 72 hours and you are circ. at 24 hours and no one bleeds to death so the Vit K shot doesn't work. He told me there is more Vit K in colostrum than that shot anyway.

I was very lucky my hospital respected my choices 100% and never said a word to me and just had me sign waivers for the hep B, eye drops, & the Vit K shot.

There have been some very good books mentioned on here by Gina & Kritsy that you and DH can read to help make your decisons before the boys 1 month check up.
