I would say 90% of the deliveries at our hospital are inductions or scheduled c-sections either because of a prior c-section or an elective c-section. We have a waiting list for inductions and if we get busy and have to cancel someone, wow do they get mad and start cussing us out When I worked nights we rarely had women come in in labor because everyone gets induced. The doctors stand point on it is if a woman throws a fit to be induced and they say no and then something happens to her baby they are liable so they really don't have a choice for fear of a lawsuit. Same with elective c-sections. If they refuse and the woman goes into labor and something happens to the baby, the patient can say I asked for a c-section and was denied.
